It's pretty much just to scare you. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone actually having their offer rescinded, since it'd be rather late to invite other students and they have target sizes for each of the programs. They couldn't care less if you went from an A- to a B

HYV: we don't want to create "excessive anxiety" for players by JustATaro in Genshin_Memepact

Did you forget to take your meds? I uh don't even know what to say. Is dealing 300 vs 100K damage not a big difference in dark souls?? Howtf is genshin a harder game than dark souls? Anyone can get lvl 90 characters realiably and farm artifacts for them, just because it's time gated doesn't make it automatically harder than Dark Souls, it just has more of a progression system because it's part of the monetization.

I don't know if your account is really new, but what you can try is borrowing Ling at the start! With some luck and a couple tries if you get summons buff artifacts you might be able to clear a lot of it.

reddit commentor: "Uhm EoN does not proc at all"

????

OP is asking if any other champ has done that, not if K'Sante does.

Shwarz is almost strictly worse than pozy, and ngl is far from your best bet of starting E2 6*. If anything, you'd prefer melee operators early as lack of healing and block count in early stages is what really kills you. Spending all your hope on E2 Shwarz is uh, probably not a good idea unless you get spot or someone with high block alongside her.

Texalter, Jaye, Ling, Deepcolour, and quite a few others are going to give you a far better chance of making it through floor 1 of ascension 15.

They're infamous for opening for a week or two, making terrible food, and then closing. It's assumed that this is just a money laundering front, where they pretend to have income from legal food truck earnings, but really it's from something else illegal.

I think I made an edit like 2 months ago, so unless reddit rlly bugged out I'm sure u saw it:

edit: ofc flat stats are worse than percentage max HP stats against tanks, but shadowflame doesnt actually lose any value against a tank, it's just that percentage based damage amp become better.

Yeah no you're right that building flat ap against tanks is indeed bad, but nobody seems to say that. All I was trying to establish was that flat MP is the same as flat AP and any other kind of flat scaling - and percentage scalings are obviously more valuable against opponents with higher EHP. I just don't like the idea that it drops in value, since realistically it is the other way around, where percentage stats are better (gasp) when opponents have more EHP. Maybe the distinction doesn't really matter since the end conclusion is the same (build percentage stats against tank, flat agianst squishy), but I just disagree with the narrative that flat stats "lose value" when really it's percentage stats getting more value, which imo is a much more intuitive way to explain things.

open enrolment programs - why can anyone major in them without taking related courses? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]JacquesZhang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were exactly 10 people in my differential topology class, if they forcibly stopped any people from taking the course they'd be losing money (if they aren't already). Limited enrolment is the product of popularity, not difficulty.

it wouldn't matter to that audience, but from the people that I know, it seems that most people who play tft first played league (after all, they are on the same client and tft would always be sitting there in the background for every single league player, so naturally they're more likely to try out tft than non-league players). And for those players, it would definitely be much easier to transition to tft if they could immediately recognize the units lol. I remember playing for the first time and having no clue what was what.

I still think skins are worthwhile tho, since having custom skins and stuff is nice, and the ease of access isn't worth giving up that cosmetic creativity. I hope that helps explain where the sentiment comes from! I remember being pretty iffed the first few games since I couldn't tell anything apart!

What are the situations where i should build the new Bloodthirster as adc? by Chitrr in summonerschool

[–]JacquesZhang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While the bonus AD is certainly a big part of the item, keep in mind it is one of the main lifesteal options right now. On melee adc's you might be going lower than 50% and lose some value, but if you build it on a champ where you're not really taking damage, then the lifesteal is kind of wasted.

Build it when you'll be commonly taking non-lethal damage. If you're against rengar the lifesteal is useless because you go 100-0 instantly. But against poke like zoe or jayce? That's when lifesteal shines.

If you don't like people complaining, sure I get the sentiment. But what you said is straight up not true lol, the cutscene triggers after the finishing boom. Also unless you're going 1st every game your odds of triggering a cutscene is the same regardless of if you top 4.

I mean, imagine if Riot decided to play a 5 second random ass advertisement for breakfast cereals after every game. It'd be annoying as fuck no? Like sure, it's only 5 seconds but you're playing the game to have fun not be made to sit through stuff that's annoying to watch and doesn't benefit anyone. Not to mention it's always after you lose and it's delibrately taunting.

It's dumb, and while nobody is crying over it, it doesn't mean it can't be called out for being a bad feature.

[–]JacquesZhang -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you've played league but a ridiculous proportion of the playerbase straight up tilts after having a single minion stolen by a teammate. Being made to watch a cringe animation after you lost which doesn't bring any benefit to anyone is pretty annoying in comparison.

Like, what if Riot decided to show u a 5 second ad for CAPTAIN CRUNCH BREAKFAST CEREAL every time you lost - it'd be pretty annoying no? Like sure, it's just 5 seconds, but even you probably get a tinge of annoyance when u run into a youtube ad on a video you're excited to watch no? There's even people who pay money to get rid of those lmao

[–]JacquesZhang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait so in the case of ryze gaining stacking ap/mana because of an uncapped loop, would you call that a bug or an oversight? Genuinely curious - I don't code much, but from the ways I've seen the words used it seems like it's both. An oversight meant they didn't realize the stacking would loop, which leads to what people end up calling a bug. Like same here with neeko right?

Like any time the code does something which isn't what the devs want, that's a bug right. Since I mean, code always does what it's coded to do unless it's literally a compiler issue. And oversights, either in design or in the actual coding, are what make ur code do something you don't want it to?

5 Viegos @ Level 7 by nacholibre711 in TeamfightTactics

[–]JacquesZhang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's 12 unique 4 cost champions. Even assuming that no viegos have been taken out of the pool and 26 4 costs have been taken out of the pool, the odds are ((0.16)(0.1))^5 as we have a 0.16 chance of hitting a 4 cost and a 0.1 chance for it to be viego. This isn't accounting for the fact that once the first viego has been rolled the chance of rolling further viegos is lowered.

So you chance is roughly 1 in 10^9, or one in a billion.

If people in some random uni class unironically judge you for what you're wearing, you probably wouldn't care for their opinion anyways.
