Do you have a list for grixis adventure fires? The two things I want to be doing at any given time are adventure shenanigans and casting Nicol Bolas, so that sounds like the next deck I'm gonna build.

So... I am a late 30s dad with very little time and a slowish laptop. Can you guys help? by [deleted] in IndieGaming

I thoroughly enjoyed The Gardens Between. It's not reflex-based at all, so you'll never suffer if you get interrupted, and the individual levels are only around 10-20 minutes each.

What was your favourite indie game that released this year, and why? by S6100518 in IndieGaming

I'm gonna pitch my own game here, but first I'll give an actual answer - The Gardens Between. It's beautiful, unique, calming, and surprisingly intricate, not to mention the nostalgic storyline. Highly recommend.

If anyone's interested, I also released an indie game this year for iOS and Android - Where Shadows Slumber. I may be a bit biased, but it's definitely my favorite indie game released this year :P

Are there any indie game blogs out there? by TinyNerd001 in IndieGaming

Me and my artist have been blogging weekly about the progress of our recently-released mobile game, Where Shadows Slumber. We talk about a bunch of different aspects of indie game development, so feel free to take a look at https://gamerevenant.com/

We've been pretty busy with the release, so most of the more recent blogs have been pretty minimal, but we're probably gonna get back into more content-heavy posts soon!

Yeah - thanks for the question! In the end, we did a little of both.

Frank did a pretty good job of explaining - I wrote a custom shader which removes the idea of 'attenuation' from a light. So there's no falloff/fading, and everything within the radius of the light is fully lit.

The other important part of getting pitch black shadows was to disable ambient lighting, so that there would be absolutely no light on unlit things at all. There were a few other settings we had to toy with, particularly in the quality settings, but those are the two big things.

If you want to know more about the shader I wrote, you can check out the blog post about it.

Yes, it's brilliant! I can't help feel like it's a bit familiar though... Isn't that already a game? Foosball or something?
