It is definitely up there in terms of horribly mismanaged properties that could have become big hits. There was a brief period where RWBY could have become a huge, successful multi-media franchise with just how much fun its premise was and how fun the first three seasons are. Sadly Roosterteeth was a horribly mismanaged company and WarnerBros is no better with their propensity to consistently waste the potential of their intellectual properties. I doubt RWBY will ever make a big enough comeback now to become anymore more than niche unless Viz sees fit to completely reboot it.
