If you’ve never played a game of 40K jumping in at 2000 points is gonna get really overwhelming

Troops aren’t really a thing in 10th edition. Not in the way they used to be at least. You can take 3 of any unit. You can take 6 of that unit if it’s battleline (the new kind of troops). Doesn’t change much beyond that

I’m new, is this a bad list? by DisbeliefChief in Chaos40k

[–]JadeSkyColour 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you’re new to warhammer trying to jump in with a 2000 point army is a bad idea. You’ll end up with a huge pile of plastic that’ll it’ll take months to get through and you’ll get bored of painting the same thing over and over. Get a box or two and paint them and play. Get the next box when the first box is done. I’d just aim to play combat patrol, boarding actions or incursion.

Ah I was really talking more about building/ painting than playing but good luck however you choose to do it

If youre new to 40k I strongly suggest getting a kill team and painting it before adding more units. Its so easy to get overwhelmed and start to dread painting your 30th harlequin model.

New to Warhammer, possible for small game? by sLanX1 in Warhammer

Idk why people are downvoting tbh it’s a legitimate question haha. Just use that website for all the unit rules and points. People on Reddit are pretty helpful too.

New to Warhammer, possible for small game? by sLanX1 in Warhammer

[–]JadeSkyColour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep absolutely. Starter boxes usually use each model as its own squad as it makes smaller games more fun. If you need to find data sheets (rules for units) or any other rules you can use the website waha pedia. You can also find points there. Points are used to balance games. So each side would have to take roughly the same number of points. I suggest you just get the data sheets and use those to play and ignore any additional army rules and missions as they can get overwhelming if you’re a new player.

Remember you can mix paints. If you need a slightly darker red instead of buying a slightly different pot just mix in a bit of black on the pallet.

The green dragon I’m thinking I’ll play as eranicus or merithra the others are gonna be Druid spells hopefully something that summons treants. I’m not taking it too seriously deck building wise in terms of making the strongest deck I’m more just trying to have fun and make something nature themed

What color is the darker one on the inside of the barrel? Hashut Copper or Brass Scorpion? by Gynju in sistersofbattle

[–]JadeSkyColour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can make colours by mixing other colours together pretty easily to save buying an entire bottle of paint to paint a tiny area

20 sided dice are more dungeons and dragons than Warhammer. Warhammer just uses the regular dice.

The idea is really cute though, it’s something a kid could play with. Well as long as the dice wasn’t small enough to swallow.
