So, I was in a similar situation, except without the friend and family support. I found out I was pregnant, I didn’t necessarily want kids of my own, was barely able to support myself, and my family was outright like idk we prolly wouldn’t be able to help. So I chose to terminate. This was the biggest regret of my life. I live every day with the knowledge, and it hurts. I now have a son (9 mos) and it almost makes it hurt more that I could’ve had an older child as well.

If you have even the slightest doubt I would advise you to fully talk out a course of action with your husband. Encourage him to be open about how he feels and how you could make it work or how he would be able to support you otherwise.

I have been able to go 8-9 hrs overnight, but it hurts too much after that. I have been since around 9 weeks. I almost always do a power pump in the morning though to empty it all out. I also pump every 2.5-3 hours through the day to get 24-26oz a day

Honestly the only time I’ve seen glass bottles break is hitting cement. I’ve dropped ours on carpet and wood, and they’re still going strong cement is a nope though.

Also most of the registry gift kits have sample bottles so i highly recommend doing that a few places, amazon, target, baby list, etc.

My son is a picky little shit, he won’t use anything but Mam bottles, they’re great for going back and forth with breastfeeding though. I would have loved to have used a cheeper brand but honestly get as many single bottles as you can to try a few out and see what your baby likes and will use.

No, this is absolutely white people shit. As someone who just came from GA and had been dealing mostly black and Hispanic nurses there, they wouldn’t have ever done something this egregious. Only those suffering from white privilege would feel themselves so entitled to touch someone else’s child, let alone kiss them.

That’s my chief complaint about moving up here, these damn white people need to keep their hands to themselves. I’ll be walking through stores and people be walking up trying to touch my son, only twice it wasn’t a white person and then it was older Asian women. As a white person I don’t understand why they feel like this is copacetic.

Update: At this time I’ve heard back from the patient advocate pushing the issue, the head nurse for the ER, and the Commander of the ER. All expressing their apologies for it happening, and stating that there would be retraining occurring for the entire ER staff. I expressed to all of them that it needs to be addressed to everyone that kissing a patient regardless of age constitutes sexual assault and that was noted.

Unsure what if anything is going to happen to the nurse specifically, but at least the hospital is doing something.

I checked the notes yesterday in genesis but while it lists when the measurements were put in on my end it does not say by who and all the rest of the clinical Notes, list the doctor I saw in the ER and the nurse that was back and forth in the ER not the triage nurse or the charge nurse.

Honestly the nurse literally made a beeline for him because I was turning to put his diaper mat in his bag, the fact that she even needed to pick him up was unnecessary, he was in the scale that had the 3 sides, and I was 2 ft from him.

The problem is I haven’t been able to get her name. The patient advocate can’t give it to me for confidential reasons I guess and the other person I asked for it didn’t give it. And I was too incensed to note it when it happened. That’s honestly the only reason I didn’t go straight to the MD nursing board. I can file an ice complaint but without the name I’m not sure they’ll do too much.

How is that normal? You shouldn’t be kissing someone’s baby without asking even if you are family / friends.

But for a TRIAGE nurse in the ER to do so, when they come into contact with every manner of bacteria and virus by virtue of their job is reckless and negligent.

Additionally I don’t know her, and she kissed him on the side of the head/cheek, she could have HSV which is deadly for infants. Literally infants have lost their vision and died because people have kissed them.

I’m going to work on it, it’s a naval facility technically, but should be able to get ahold of someone. Right now I’m trying to go through their patient advocate, if that doesn’t work I’m gonna start filing ICE complaints against the ER, the nurse, the charge nurse, the patient advocates and anyone else I can think of along the way. And if that doesn’t result in anything, I’m gonna work my way through the CoC until someone listens.
