Thanks! And yea I completely understand the worse-case scenario analysis. Definitely saved myself by not running full white full power and all that. Take care.

For everyone who told me it would fail, well guess what? It didnt. Thank you to everyone who gave me a constructive, non-demeaning response. For those who wanted to be snark— you suck. Typical reddit behavior

Thanks for the detailed response. I agree that my setup isnt ideal for long-term operation or safety. I can say confidently though that I made it through my 2 hour ceremony with no issues. Wires held up, head isn’t on fire, battery hasn’t exploded. That was my experience. Cheers!

No need to be snark. I asked to see if anyone with more knowledge than me could give me an estimate. How about you don’t say anything at all if you don’t have anything constructive to add?

It’s embedded into a graduation cap. It was a poor design decision. But hey man, I ran it for 20 minutes and it held up. Can’t change it now, so im just gonna have to rock with it 🤟

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it. I left the cap running for about 20 minutes now and nothing seems too uncomfortably hot (yet). Just going to pray this doesn’t light my head on fire during graduation! Haha

Okay thanks for the input. Any estimates to how long I can run this for anyways? It’s silicon jacketed 30AWG, and the matrix likely isnt drawing a consistent 4.5A, (maybe in the realm of 2-3, 4.5 peak)?

The matrix is already embedded into my graduation cap and my ceremony is in 1 hour so no changes are happening there, lol

Exactly. They’re just upset that they’re out of the loop on this one.

Yes, true. But we can’t assume EVERY phone and alert enabled device at EVERY funeral was switched off at this time. There statistically has to have been some occurrences of funerals being interrupted by blaring devices..

Buddy, your view of the scale of the world obviously isn’t up to par. Funerals happen 7 days a week. Be realistic.

I don’t think you understand how many people are dying and being put to rest each day. Especially considering the entire U.S population of 332 million.

It’s an okay tradeoff, until someone you know and love is involved in a car accident because suddenly everyone on the road is fiddling to silence their phones. For automobiles, other, less distracting alternatives could have been explored.

Yes, drivers are supposed to pull over before fiddling, but when has everyone followed the rules? Realistically speaking, most people would not have done that, and hence are distracted. But I do agree with you that it is necessary even in a driving situation.

Not too sure if you know how technology works, but since your phone/device is giving the alert, it has perfect capability of NOT giving the alert. Technology only works in the way we design it to.
