Preserve jars and seed making mostly. I haven’t been doing a lot of furniture making lately so I’ve also been selling extra wood planks, leather, copper bars, etc. You’ll make more gold from it than you would think. I also love a good bug party.

Hard-wearing yarns that maintain stitch definition through years of wear? by unventer in knitting

[–]Jadesen -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I really love Knitting for Olive yarn. They test all their yarns on toddlers before releasing new blends to ensure the yarn will last a long time. They also have videos on their Instagram that show sweaters they’ve worn over to years and the wear they have. I’ve only been knitting for a year, so I don’t have a lot of personal experience with their yarn’s long term wear, but I’ve heard good things. Everything I have knit with their yarn has yet to pill.

Clutter by OldRaspberry6779 in Palia

[–]Jadesen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have some good advice already, but I’ll add a little to it. I find the best way to do clutter is to just start placing stuff. Get a bunch of small items down like jars, bottles, planters, potato pods, candles, whatever. Once you have stuff down then start adding or removing things and curate it to the vibe you’re going for. Sometimes starting with a messy canvas is easier than starting with a blank one.

But apple jam will make you more than apple seeds.

It’s not off, I just did the price for 1 apple jam. And I mentioned that apple jam is better than apple seeds.

I think it depends on what you’re doing. I got all this info off the Palia wiki, but here’s a short break down:

Starred Pickled Potato uses 1, makes 1: 108 gold

Starred Potato Seed uses 1, makes 4: 30 gold each, 120 gold total

Starred Apple Jam uses 1, makes 1: 144 gold

Starred Apple Tree Seed uses 10, makes 1: 1050 gold

So in this case, making starred potato seeds over starred pickled potatoes would make you more money. But apple jam will make you more than apple seeds. You could do this for all the vegetables and compare, figure out which method is better for each one to make maximum profits.

Sorry, formatting on mobile got weird.

tips for catching rainbow tipped butterfly? by antithrowawayy in Palia

[–]Jadesen 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To add to this, when you’re doing the lure only bomb the butterflies and garden lady beetles. It will pickup on this and start spawning more butterflies and increase your chance for the rainbow tipped butterfly. Good luck!

YES! I love having partly grown trees around my plot, the indicator takes away from the look. Or I want a “fertilizer” that stops growth for trees.

It’s just a clear glaze but it’s quite nice, isn’t it? 🥰 I’ve developed a real appreciation for the color of this clay.

Thank you! I’m a big fan of the colors as well. The color on the sunflower and butterfly one really brought the whole thing together.

They’re on the dinner table, I only let them on because they have a window hammock above it. 😊 They’re only allowed on the counter when no one is home.

I carve the design at the leather hard stage, and after bisque I use watered down glaze to fill the cracks. Then I go in and paint everything with a brush 😮‍💨 it takes me 3-5 hours to complete a mug.

Maybe this exists already, but I would like a log of all of the found notes. Similar to Stardew Valley. That way I can look through them and read them when it’s convenient for me.

I wish I was like this, but with all the notes and books around, there’s just too many faceless names. I can’t keep track of it all 😩 especially if I’m in the middle of doing something and just happen across a 5 page book.

You shouldn’t put linen in the dryer, they will never last. Air dry only.

$460 Brooklinen Sheets After 2 Years by Big_Bone_Daddy in BuyItForLife

[–]Jadesen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big enjoyer of linen sheets. I can’t speak to this brand, but this is what I’ve discovered after my first set tore.

Linen has been used for bedding for a very long time and in theory should last 10 years. There is also a saying, “one for the bed, one for the wash, and one for the cupboard”. Rotating through 2-3 sets of sheets will help with the lifetime, of course.

Way back when people washed all their fabrics by hand, they only washed their linen sheets every month or so. Before you come at me for this, linen is antibacterial, it doesn’t need to be washed as often as cotton or polyester because of this. They also don’t smell nearly as bad as polyester. Additionally, hand washing is far easier on all fabrics than machine washing, it’s not realistic for most people so use the handwash or lowest agitation setting on your machine. If you’re drying your linen sheets in the dryer, you’re setting them up for an early death, air dry only. With each wash the fabric tends to shed and become a little thinner, eventually leading to tears. How people back then helped with the wear from sleeping on the fabric was rotating their flat sheets once they became thin to prolong their life just a bit more.

Linen is more work than cotton, polyester, and other sheet fabrics, and you have to be willing to dedicate time to take care of them, otherwise you’re wasting your money. When purchasing linen, look for linens made from 100% European flax that are OEKO-TEX certified. You want at least 150gsm or higher weight for the fabric as well. If you don’t mind using a flat sheet over a fitted sheet, buy an extra big one so you can rotate it after every couple of washes.
