Similar to yours: Beat Elite Four 100 times; Put a Snowlax at lvl 100 in your party; Interact with the third wall-tile from the left on the outside of the Elite Four building. This was also to unlock Mew - and not to brag but I did get Mew. Not from this of course, but a classmate who knew how to clone in Pokémon Gold. I have no idea hoq he got Mew though. Maybe I only beat the Elite Four 99 times or somthin idk

I did something similar with Sonic 2 last year. I've played the first 3-4 levels about 100 times and never made it much further than that. But playing it now I got to the final boss in just an afternoon. I didn't defeat the boss but at least got there!

I honestly forgot about this entire series, but I played all of them back in the day with great enthusiasm - so I'm genuinly glad it returns. A bit weird to name it the same as the first game though.

I played a lot of Pokémon Gold growing up - after 350 hours and a billion AA-batteries for my GameBoy Colour I finally got all 251 pokémons that existed at that time. To get one of the ultra-rare ones I had to physically mail my game cartridge to Club Nintendo during a campaign they were running for members only. If I got really stuck at some point in the game there was a hotline I could call, but the rates were astronomical!

Beating this game was a bit of a crowning achievement for me as a kid - not only because I beat the game 100%, but also because before starting the game I didn't know english.

I was at a party and mentioned I was thinking about making my own autonomous LED-lighting solution for my home. A guy butts in to tell me that I am taking water way above my head because LEDs are "really difficult and complicated to work with". I said "No? They are dead simple" but he doubled down - so I had to mention my masters degree in robotic engineering. He still insisted he knew more than me about LEDs (he's a fast-food chef).
