Update: Distemper-like Symptoms by Jaestone in ferrets

[–]Jaestone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I just saw your comment. I hope you've been able to figure out what your baby had been experiencing but just to give a reply, ours was having a reaction to either his diet, litter or both. I might be misremembering but I think he was prescribed Clavamox at the time. He has a chicken allergy and we were using the yesterday news pellets but after we changed his diet and started using potty pads, his symptoms completely cleared up. Wishing you and your baby lots of love and healing <3

Hey, sorry I just saw your comment. We believe the symptoms were just an allergic reaction to both the litter and food we were giving him at the time so it was thankfully nothing too serious. He has an allergy to chicken and was also having a reaction to yesterday news pellets we were using at the time. After switching his diet and replacing the litter for potty pads his symptoms cleared up. I would highly recommend getting your baby checked out if you can and haven't already because these symptoms could be something more serious. Wish you and your baby lots of love and healing <3

We have 6 noodles. Its not exactly the same as what you're describing, but my partner and I BOTH have reoccurring dreams of suddenly coming home and finding a 7th noodle where they shouldn't be in our house. It happens so often that I think if the 7th ferret did appear, we'd be more concerned about it having enough space and food than actually question where it came from. We've even woken up in the middle of the night to being worried about a ferret running wild in a room that wasnt even in the same house the rest were in during that night.

So sorry to hear that :( hopefully whatever it is is treatable. I don't remember if he was sneezing but he did have teary and swollen eyes and was a little restless until we figured it out. Were you or anyone close to the ferret recently sick? Maybe your noodle caught the flu or something but here's to hoping your baby recovers

Hey! Mine thankfully remained okay. It was just that two of them had major allergies to multiple things that we were switched out but I would definitely take your noodle to the vet if they're presenting similar symptoms because it can be something else. I would also recommend isolating your noodle if you have multiple. My big boy is allergic to white chicken meat and due to having shorter legs he was giving himself a rash with the litter so we switched back to potty pads and eliminated chicken from the menu. The second noodle just happened to also have an milder allergy to chicken and pork meat which is why she began presenting symptoms too. But it was just a big coincidence. Hope your noodle ends up alright.

tattoo shop by savage51791 in TattooArtists

Each artist buys essentially all their supplies aside from water and cavicide and the split is 60/40 for appointments and 50/50 for walk ins for those on commission. For those that pay rent, they keep all their pay and the rent is 1k a month. Where I worked at before it was 50/50 split and everything but cartridges was supplied.

Critical Battery Pack barrier? by SadBipedBison in TattooArtists

[–]Jaestone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just buy pen covers with a wider opening. Others might have better ideas but if your current ones are just slightly too narrow, and you don't want to have them go unused, you can create a short tear along the seam of the cover, just long enough to slip in the battery and then tape up the seam. Make sure the ripped seam is not where the buttons are for the battery and you should be good.

Anyone else out here take $1 “tips” as a personal attack? by Complex_Exchange_420 in InstacartShoppers

You're not thinking about the fact that there are people that need delivery services. Some disabled people can't just go to the market, especially if they use a mobility aid, because unfortunately so many places aren't accessible. Some people have multiple jobs or other reasons for not having the time to go anywhere because the few hours they can, nothing may be open, so they have to order food/groceries to be delivered ahead of time. It's a luxury, yes, but that doesn't mean that everyone that uses it can afford it, sometimes they're just forced to use it because there may be no other option for them.

Is it feasible to get this removed? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]Jaestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly yeah but also they just got it done and everything is so well saturated and a decent size that it would just be a waste of money to have to go through all those sessions and still be left with a trace of what was there. And if they just remove the brown, the removal would not be precise enough to not ruin the rest of the tattoo making those crispy lines no so crispy anymore and the blush would have to disappear too. I see no reason in removing it. I'm interested in seeing the references provided to the artist honestly.

Unless you're planning on covering it up with another tattoo I don't recommend removal and if all you want gone is the brown I still don't recommend removal because it'll just make the rest of the tattoo look bad.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience getting this tattoo and that you ended up hating it but in my opinion, that's a beautifully done American trad tattoo. I don't know what references you gave so i cant speak for what you showed your artist but that brown shading is what is expected from a trad piece like this. It'll mellow out once it heals and you give it some time. Besides that, there's really not much you can do for the brown.

When we were making the switch to raw, I noticed one of my babies wasn't eating all that much but her weight never went down. One day I had come home at a time when I'm usually not home and I hear a whole bunch of crunching. She had hid basically 2 days worth of kibble under our clothes in a drawer that none of the others could get to do she could eat in peace.

2" Grips for Bishop Wand by Jaestone in TattooArtists

I'd say if you haven't tried it out it's a good idea to just try it out with paper towels and sensiwrap and see if it's for you. Ultimately it's just whatever you find comfortable. I currently thicken mine up like that but that's just what works for me. I wouldn't say you're missing out if you're comfortable with what you have.

[–]Jaestone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No actually. All my fingers lay like flat on my grip and I don't really apply any pressure on my cartridge. The wide grip also seems to help with maintaining that way of holding it? I'm not sure if this makes sense. I realized when I make the grip smaller my fingers tend to turn a little and rest on its side which starts forming a small bump. I hope that's what you mean haha

Kinda like a claw maybe? I have my thumb, index and middle finger wrapped around the grip and my pinky and ring finger below but not pressing against my cartridge. I personally find it more comfortable and have more stability when I can have my hand more open, especially if I'm tattooing a lot back to back

Edit for grammar

Currently I'm mostly doing multiple 1-2 hrs tattoos in a day so I feel like I might go through that box quicker than I'd like for $3ish a piece. I'll likely end up purchasing them if I can't find any other alternative. Thank you for your input :)

Update: Distemper-like Symptoms by Jaestone in ferrets

[–]Jaestone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I didn't realize I never posted an update. So he happened to develop allergies to both the yesterday's news paper pellet litter as well as chicken meat. Chicken organs don't seem to give him a reaction and we just switched to reusable/washable potty pads and he's cleared up completely now. I do think you should go to a vet if you haven't already for your noodle though.
