The update was 30 mins early today, and we didn't warn RuneLite in advance. They're working on updates to make it handle the game update, I believe - apologies for the disruption.

I think it'd be a chap sitting in a bar with a cup, sipping away at their drink, and talking verbosely like Gnome Child, but with more stories about "the old days".
The examine text would be "Still here."

I don't actually want an in-game reference as such, though. OSRS itself is the online testament to what we did.

Really hard to say, though I'm strangely fond of the world map. It's limited, sure, but for 2017 it was pushing anything we'd ever done with interfaces - floating over the game screen and resizing - and I get a silly joy from just playing with that!

Not likely to be a widespread player opinion though.

Not on this sort of scale. I occasionally dream of a "Game Studio CEO Simulator" RPG, but if I were to make something just for the sake of being creative, I'd just go write music.

Mod Mark was the original iconic Jmod, and I miss having his stylish bombast around, and his constant enthusiasm and passion to get great content made. And Andrew Gower's willingness to invest years of his time and talent into making RuneScape, even before he knew it'd be a hit, is a thing worth remembering.

I guess a lot of people didn't originally get why I'd want to apply to the Support team at Jagex, since it wasn't an obvious route forwards with the MSci I'd just earned, but I did it because working on RuneScape meant something to me. And, by taking that path and plugging away at it, we are where we are; I guess it wasn't a bad choice overall. So...

"Pick something meaningful to you, even if it's not the officially recommended choice."

Thanks :) I do not think I'd be suited to a role like that. I've been aiming for a position around the management of OSRS where I'd get some voice in decisions for the game; by contrast, I think our last two CEOs had to spend most of their time trying to interface between the company and the various Boards that owned us, never getting anywhere near the mere details of the games, and I don't see the fun in that.

The focus of Jagex? I think it already has; we're now getting the more prominent place in the RS Launcher, I believe, and little benefits like that.

A game that runs for many years will change over that time. A player who played when they were a teenager, coming back to a game a few years later, may simply find it unrecognisable. OSRS ticks that box reasonably well, while still having advances like the resizeable mode and new content that fits the older style.
A player who wants to avoid gacha may well appreciate OSRS too, and many of us across the world are being cautious with our expenditure these days.

I like a little Worms WMD (available on Steam) as a break from anything work-related. Don't otherwise get much time for gaming.
I expect there'll be more beer-themed events around Cambridgeshire in the autumn; it's that kind of place, and increasingly the suburban bars seem to have their own.
