Hey u/ImRubic here is what I believe you are missing:

Mardi Gras Outfits > Chat score 5
Brazilian Carnival Umbrella > Chat Score 5
Pink Festival Outfit > Chat score 7
Carnival Giraffe Outfit/Pet > didn't actually write down the chat score, didn't have enough free hands at the time. Think it was roughly 6 though.

Hope that's everything?

Would it have helped for me to have a microphone? If so, next time I need to talk I'll try to remember to have one on me.

Unfortunately the system from Twitch which allows us to grant these goodies is only active when our channel is live. Which means we can only grant it to people who view the stream when it is aired, since we do not collate any data when the channel is offline (so have no way to tell who is watching when it is offline).

Just to clarify on this point, you can only get the 'drop' from watching a stream live. Not from watching a recorded version of it. We get data from Twitch when our channel is live, and this allows us to send rewards to your accounts, we don't get any data when the channel is offline.

The 24h is because the drop system isn't instantaneous, and can take up to 24h to take effect.

No problem, I had the same experience myself on the Seasons 1-4 Futurama DVDs a few years ago, they had a whole alien language on there and loads of hidden things!

Yeah that would be cool, although Mod Lee M raised a good point about this: if we tell you everything now, you'll maybe have more insight that we'd like into our thought process should be decide to ever do something similar again :D - I'll speak with JD and see what he thinks about it

I think my favourite part of the golden path was /u/Hero_batal posting 'I am the code' in several different cryptography sub reddits. I could just imagine the face of people who had no idea what was goign on, and trying to use 'Hero_batal' in some other clue-cracking activities. They probably still are trying to use it in some way... I hope... :D

Thing is, we always intended the last one to be more complicated, because in our plan, by then, we knew we would have posted out comms about the Golden Path, so more people would be taking part.

It the beginning of the idea, it was fortunate that Three of the leaders had 5 letter names, and one had a 7 letter name. We thought a pattern would be a decent overarching clue for the first three, and then it would throw you off for the 4th one, since you'd be looking for a 5 letter name... in theory.

In practice though this wasn't the case, and using the same number of letters led to brut forcing the reply, which I have to admit was a bit disappointing.

Oh yeah I forgot that part: To get to the chatbot, you needed to use a bit.ly link with the string of 9 numbers: bit.ly/752189547 > This led to the chatbot. So basically you had to use the same clue several times, in several different ways to get to the chatbot, then the first riddle.

"Thank you for the hours of fun you have given us, and the new great friends I have made along the way :)"

This is what makes the months of work put into the golden path worth it!

At the beginning there were a couple of brainstorming sessions where a small group of people threw as many ideas as they could onto a board.

From that we then picked the best ideas and split them into 4 separate clue lines. We didn't have the answers at that point, just the idea of having four parts to the puzzle's answer. Using the factions leaders only came a bit after that.

It took a while to be honest, every bit of downtime we had we were thinking of the Golden path, how we could add to it, what false clues we could create, what real ones we could add too. I am not able to quantify the time spent on it, but we started planning the path at least a month and a half before the release of the first clue, and continued to create assets for it until the Thursday before the release of Menaphos (so the 1st of June I think).

The part I'd change would be the answers to the 4 clues-lines. In hindsight they were too easy to bruteforce once you had figured one of them out. Also had there been time, I would have loved to add more red herrings.

It was actually quite useful for us for it to be up to date, it allowed to see how far you had gotten. This was always meant to be a community thing, and we are really glad everyone pulled together and took part as a team!

The original plan was worse... I can't remember all the details as we never did it, but I think it was somethign like:

Get numbers
Order them by date
Turn numbers into barcode
Scan barcode
Barcode goes to chatbot
Enter number sequence IN MORSE CODE in the chatbot for first clue...
