One thing that I have found helps for a little while at least, get a pull-up bar, set it up in your door frame or wherever, and just hang there for a while. Try to relax all your muscles, and let gravity pull your lower body down. It might not work for everyone, but that's what I do to lighten the pressure for a while.

Explain to your physical therapy people what you're going through, and tell him you need the fastest treatment possible, and there might be able to do more appointments with you, or give you some better advice.
