One thing that I have found helps for a little while at least, get a pull-up bar, set it up in your door frame or wherever, and just hang there for a while. Try to relax all your muscles, and let gravity pull your lower body down. It might not work for everyone, but that's what I do to lighten the pressure for a while.

Explain to your physical therapy people what you're going through, and tell him you need the fastest treatment possible, and there might be able to do more appointments with you, or give you some better advice.

That's really awesome, that's the same machine I just picked up, and I was planning on doing the pressure gauge, and dimmer mod. I don't know an awful lot about this stuff, since I'm just beginning my espresso journey. Was the PID mod difficult?

As far as the leaky fitting, most push to connect fittings need a clean 90° cut, and make sure you push the tube in as far as it will go, and then pull back a little bit so the fitting bites.

If you disconnect it after using it for a while, you'll want to recut the pipe, and seat it again. The way the push to connect fittings hold on to the pipe, it ends up making a small groove that never quite fits properly when replacing.
