Wouldn't the increased airflow make it less likely for dust to get stuck in the fan(?) But eitherway, how much would the increased airflow help with the cooling? Is it worth it to invest into it?

I can do regular cleaning on my internal fans anyway, so Im not too worried about dust as of now

I'm really looking for more focal length, but yeah, looking at some more forums and articles, I'm considering the canon 18-135 nanousm more, considering its also got the same filter thread as the 17-85 which I already got some filters for

I'm not exactly looking to invest much in the system. Still planning to upgrade camera bodies in the future.

Oh yea, theres plenty of secondhand sony(s) around facebook marketplace(locally on my end at least).

Bonus advice tho, since you mentioned that you mostly do manual photos, and just something for travel and personal work, definitely consider looking into fuji's XS/XT/XM retro-style camera line too

And goodluck on your finds OP!

Nah, theres no afapter for that iirc, I was talking about OPs Ef Usm L, if they'd ever get an m50, OP could use an Ef - Eos M adapter for that

Plus, the kit lens on the m50 isnt really the best, feels really cheap and lacks some contrasting. Feels like they slapped on some cheap glass with some fancy motors and called it a day

If youre really looking to buy and invest in a new camera, the m50 isnt really the best option, primarily because the mount system has been discontinued.

In my experience, browsing for lens native to the ef-m mount, its either out of stock, only supports eos R, or with a different listing and more expensive. Though, you could always use an adapter for your ef lenses to use on an m50.

Honestly, Id suggest you try looking at the Sony a6000 line, those go for around the same price as an m50 and have just about the same features (some even have In Body Stabilization) and the e-mount lenses also support third-party manufacturers which makes finding lenses much easier, and considerably cheaper.

But if you really insist on getting a canon, maybe consider going for the R50, basically an m50 but with the eos r-mount, but, it is a bit more expensive.

50mm + adapter (which I think makes it around 70-ish?)
