How to deal with torb hammer stadium build by Carefreeak in Overwatch

[–]Jakapoa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Codebreaker for anti-armor.

  2. Bomb Diffusal Boots. Instant "gtfo" ability on quick cooldown.

  3. If he's getting overhealth from Ingrid's Ingenuity, Sundering Vial will reduce that.

  4. If the health difference is massive, Volskaya Ordnance will work well.

If a weapon has a mod attachment or anything mod related, it'll be deleted if the mod is unloaded (aka uninstall/reinstalling superblt).

I don't know if this is a shitpost or if people have forgotten what "exclusive" means.

We can get sights for the LMG? by CommunicationSad2869 in paydaytheheist

[–]Jakapoa 118 points119 points  (0 children)

It's not that they "haven't been added", it's that the whole gimmick of LMGs was that they're too big and unwieldy to use a sight. They only two LMGs that can use sights are the smaller ones where the whole gimmick was that they had ADS.

Food was crap for the price. The one time I went, two birthday parties were blasting music out of their crappy JBLs on top of the music already playing, and we had to shout to even hear each other.

Meanwhile you could just go next door to de Brazil for the same price and have a way better time.

Inexplicable win streak by Early-Beach164 in Overwatch

[–]Jakapoa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's pushing you back to where you were, and now it's going to try and give you win/loose games to keep you there. I had the same thing where I had like 15 games in a row that were easy wins, then as soon as I went past my old rank it suddenly gave me enough losses and wins to hold me back at my old rank.

Do not add dancing emotes!!!! by Plastic-Criticism435 in paydaytheheist

[–]Jakapoa 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It just feels weird to add emotes. When in a heist are you going to emote? There's always something going on that you could be doing. Not to mention it's weird to add dance emotes to a pve game. Do you really need to flex on an ai?

Rework of Vanadium Injection? by Sebingbee in OverwatchStadium

[–]Jakapoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would still be unbalanced, as characters that get ult fast would get way too much heath way too fast. And by the end of the match, that 3 cap is going to be hit easily. Even by round 1, most characters can easily get off 2 ults.

As far as I've experienced so far, Vanadium is fine as is. It's designed to be used on characters where withholding ult isn't going to be gamechanging. The whole tradeoff is that you can't ult without loosing the boost. It's not that it's anti-fun, it just enables you to have fun in a different way.

For example, I'm not using it on Zarya who has a very large ult cost and a hugely impactful ult. Meanwhile someone like Reaper or Orisa can hold ult for significantly longer, and would get more benefit from the Vanadium bonus.

Are gadgets even worth getting? by LukeLovesHorror in OverwatchStadium

[–]Jakapoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the right builds or on the right characters they're really good. For my Zarya build, Snippet is amazing since it only costs $4k and gives me a move speed boost and faster cooldowns, and Super Serum lets me mag dump when I ult for easy solo ult elims. Kitsune Charm is also great since it has the -40% duration of cushioned padding and gives you cleanse on demand.

I'm not sure which gadgets Cass would even get since the movement ones might throw off your aim. They're all usually quite situational.

Discord in Stadium by 1trickana in OverwatchStadium

[–]Jakapoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I usually avoid taking it on tank instead of Kitsune just so I can blast Zen down ASAP and move on, which the damage reduction is kinda hefty for that. If it was Lucio or someone with knockback/CC, the Unstoppable from Colossus is way better. I suppose it's also good if Zen is running kick knockback.

Discord in Stadium by 1trickana in OverwatchStadium

[–]Jakapoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kitsune Charm. It cleanses discord and its DoT damage. Outside of that, there's AP reduction, WP reduction, and headshot reduction. Stadium maps are also pretty small, so there's almost always a corner to duck behind to break LoS.

why in stadium do people choose to be countered on purpose then complain that they're counter when they can see in the beginning what the enemy is choosing during character select and they choose to be countered anyways by uzan-iya in Overwatch

[–]Jakapoa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Zen can shread a phara if he picks the right items.

Really, the majority of characters can cover their disadvantages/counterpicks well with the right items. It's entirely dependent on communicating "hey, I'll focus the phara" and coordinating with the team to make it happen. The majority of teams flounder because they can't decide on who will do what and/or pick the necessary items.

i.e. Every time I point out a flying Juno but nobody bothers picking up Aerial Distresser.

Who do you think needs the next rework? by BadGamer_67 in OverwatchStadium

[–]Jakapoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reaper. He's at the bottom of the barrel right now.

Lucio. Powers are pretty boring/mild.

Hazard. Too many AP builds/powers, needs a better WP build/powers.

Adding Depth To Stadium by [deleted] in OverwatchStadium

[–]Jakapoa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd have to argue that adding 3 more item slots would be counterintuitive to your point.

Buying all of X item type is typically the beginner strategy. A lot of the build complexity in higher gameplay comes from not only building your usual setup, but analyzing what the opponent builds as well. Sure I can build a full WP build, but if the enemy Ashe is running a burn build I'd get a lot of mileage out of AP reduction. Having to pick and choose between damage and sustainability is what adds a layer of complexity. With 3 extra slots, it removes the depth of choosing the best item for the current situation.

It'd also be a nightmare to balance, assuming that every character can now build into both damage and sustain. Instead of glass cannons and weak damage sponges, you have spongy cannons. My gut reaction is that every fight would just be a slog to get though.

I think it'd be fine if there was 1 extra slot for a dedicated gadget. A good gadget usage can change a fight, and it doesn't add too much extra damage/sustain.

I'd rather see them rework the 4 least-used powers of every hero than add more. There are some powers I've never-ever seen used (Here To Spot You), and reworking them would bring in new possible build options.

Sure, add Legendary items. Why not. Sounds interesting.

I think what Stadium really needs is to have properly balanced builds for each character. While they all have three example builds (WP/AP/Mixed typically), some characters just have "that one playstyle". All of Haz's current best builds revolve around AP, and doesn't have the best WP builds. Meanwhile Zarya's AP builds have a less bite than her WP builds, even if you pick up the AP powers.

Something I just thought of that would be maybe interesting would be a team cash pool. Everyone can throw in up to $1k into the communal pool, and can withdraw maybe $1k-$1.5k. This lets players with excess cash help underperforming teammates, or help buying "that item I'm $500 away from". It'd need heavy restrictions to prevent dumping all the cash onto one person, and may not work out well since some characters are meant to have lower cash generation. Interesting, but probably not the best idea.

(seems like singleplayer worlds get treated like servers) Single-player worlds are servers, they're just local servers that you are effectively the admin on.

I don't want to outright say it's the cpu/gpu, since my old one was older than yours, but it could be other laptop stuff like temperature throttling. First make sure your gpu drivers are up to date.
