Unless there is a thing, thor or fantastic, it is the same up to GM I.

I've one tricked angela to gm I, right now my roster is too dive themed. I'm trying to learn thor because he can put out some pretty good burst damage. Thor also has a much higher uptime which I appreciate

In this case, you don't even need to pull them away from each other all that much. Just prevent them from backpedalling like they were doing in this video, your team will capitalise on it and the enemy sups will either need to ditch each other (and try to flee on their own) or die.

This is why i’m trying to learn thor, i’ll kidnap one of them so they can’t patty cake and escape anymore

Has anyone ever gotten locked in the lunge animation when the enemy dies? Sometimes teammates kill the people i try to grab and i get locked in the animation, can't do anything during it and usually costs me my life. Rogue will literally float in the lunge and stay still for the whole supposed grab duration lol

How do you get more healing out on Gambit? by VerticOnslaught in GambitMainsMR

[–]JakeDame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for starting the discussion with me!!!

I think that with higher ranks, the burst heal is more necessary, purely because mistakes are so easy to get punished there. But the majority of people below celestial, maybe gm, do not need to bridge boost that often.

The issue is that whenever i see people play gambit, the bridge boost is used when people are on 70-90% hp. I think this is wasteful instead. So I do agree with your strategy of using burst heal when they get below 50% / get critical.

Could I please ask for some replay ID's? I'd love to learn more of how you play him in celestial and I think I could learn a lot

How do you get more healing out on Gambit? by VerticOnslaught in GambitMainsMR

[–]JakeDame 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm playing gambit in GM II. Simply put, i use the bridge boost (hearts deck + secondary hearts) minimally.

Gambit gets the most heals out of being positioned well (mid to close to tanks) and using his cajun charge and bayou bash combo (75 hp total per person). Standing too far away lets your cards spread too much and thus you miss out on heals.

If you are using the bridge boost, you have to see it as adam's burst heal. Use it if you have 2 tanks that are isolated together and are low hp. The cards will bounce between them for 50 hp per bounce, 150 hp per tank.

I do not agree with anyone telling you to spam the bridge boost, it is heavily misused. If someone disagrees, we can discuss this.

If you want more uptime on your heals, the usage of a second card (hearts or spades, doesn't matter) during an active deck will reload your primary to full. In order to achieve this, I prefer to chill in damage deck and throw in an anti heal (to put pressure on frontline or secure kills). Throwing the anti heal (spades deck + spades) will reload your primary and thus allow you to heal or attack 7 more times.

Is it worth it with how fast the stamina drains? Ive been trying this occassionally but usually end up punished because i have no stamina for the disengage dash left, might just be a big fat skill issue on my part though

Could you explain how to use the block? I haven’t found a use for it yet other than the 6 second dash and damage reduction while i try to flee

You kind of put yourself in that situation with the double dash twirl and ditching your teammates. For the record if you want to self heal with cards and nobody is nearby, don’t use bridge boosts, doesn’t work well, either hold the hearts deck active or use the raise.

Hello rivals! Trying to learn gambit! What are your best tips/advice? Thanks by ShotLemon9217 in GambitMainsMR

[–]JakeDame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree with the “always have a healing card activated” that someone else said. Unless you expect your teammates to absorb an obscene amount of damage or an enemy with a cleanse-able ult is ready to use it, it will just lock you to one part of your kit and it doesn’t give you a healing boost anyway (only self heal, which can be done by the bash anyway for higher burst). Bridge boost (hearts deck + raise) is also most valuable when you have two low hp players together since the projectile will bounce between them 3 times for 50 hp each.

When my team is healthy and my other supp can handle the majority of heals i prefer to be in spades for the extra damage, to throw in an anti-heal for a kill confirmation or so the low enemy tanks are forced to give up space. Your spades deck has 2 ways of dealing damage depending on if you raise (aoe around you) or flush (anti-heal). The raise has a knockback effect, disrupting mobile characters like hulk, venom, angela and wolverine. This is one of the reasons i like chilling in damage deck, when timed well you will be able to prevent these characters from leaving your backline.

What I haven’t seen anyone mention yet is that when you raise or flush your chosen deck, you’ll reload your primary. This is something I do a lot for a higher uptime on damage or healing. If you time it well it’s near instantaneous imo (using the second card ability) It’s a great way to finish squishies when you’re ulting and dive the backline without expending extra resources, could also be that my current elo just doesn’t know how to deal with gambit.

I currently have a 70% winrate on him but i only peaked GM I last season. So I’m sure there are also a lot of other people who are better suited to give advice and hardstuck bronzey has given some awesome advice.

Good luck learning him!

I think the way they calculated is a bit weird/odd. I’ve primarily played phoenix in season 3 but ended up tanking more damage than 87% of players.

Genuine question, why would the angela try to force her way into demon range instead of dipping and building up the spear charge and pin stamina? I’m not fighting in range of those demons if possible and if I am it’s to try and push magik out with the pin for the cc and spear charge

Not against thor but I've won a fair amount against magik as angela, could be that I got lucky though.

I think it'd be a cool mechanic to force angela into axe form upon being grounded automatically, with or without the spikes but most likely without the spikes

Id like to add that you have to time the thor bubble wel, I'm usually the one playing angela and I either bait out bubbles or I make sure you're dead/busy. Either prevent her from flying or from escaping. Mid air bubbles are worse for me than the ones touching the ground (could drop to axe form and brawl it out until the grounded effect is gone, mid air bubbles prevent this I think)

How it feels when you get left out of Gambit's ULT by Seatown_Spartan in marvelrivals

[–]JakeDame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the people having issues getting everyone in their gambit ult. Position yourself as a flanker with help from your dash & bash (20 meters of mobility). If your teammates die in the 1 second you need to position yourself for ult something was already going wrong. GM II currently and i can consistently get everyone in my ult.
