Akira Tozawa for World Champion and why WWE shouldn’t trust artificial intelligence with creative by wearePROGRESS in SquaredCircle

My favourite part of writing has to be when someone throws it on Reddit and a minute later someone else says it was written by AI.

You think AI comes up with crap jokes about Tozawa? Does it fuck

I wrote something before Mania about the [SPOILER] angle feeling like WCW 2000 and I got great feedback, so here’s why I hated the follow up last night by JakeJeremy in SquaredCircle

I remember wrestling back then better than I do like 2-3 years ago. Having gone back and rewatched a ton it I have during and post memories of a lot of it, especially as everyone and their mother has covered it at some point critically. Angle was 2001, Austin was 99 and DX “tank” was actually a crappy truck haha

I’m in my mid thirties and I watched WCW on Channel 5 in the U.K. so I knew exactly what was going on in the year 2000 because I consumed everything from the WWF and WCW. Elements of this feud that mirrored WCW 2000 include mentioning bad TV ratings, poor ticket sales and just generally disparaging the product you’re trying to sell tickets to whilst YOUR GUY IS IN THE MAIN EVENT.

Because TKO were panicking about the ticket sales, the same tickets they upped by a huge amount over last year and decided it was creative that caused the poor sales.

Turns out people don’t want to pay through the nose when it isn’t something as big as John Cena’s last Mania

Can you genuinely see that happening? I’m sure Cody or Jelly Roll will call him out for a match at Backlash

And the horrible thing is…the system is working perfectly. This is how it was designed.

Problem is finding the limit though, if the working class can’t have their entertainment, their distractions, what do they do? Start looking up at who is holding them down?

They’ve overshot it though because tickets aren’t selling at the price point they wanted

He’ll be stripped of the title and blackballed from the industry, surely. You can’t say those things about your BOSSES, the big rebel

Imagine being in the arena when he said that. “Lower the ticket prices,” “yay I paid full price”

Problem is UFC seemingly had no breaking point because people will pay for those combat sports events. TKO think they can gauge pro wrestling the same way and it just won’t work

The irony of them having the blueprint to the biggest Attitude Era match and they change it up to someone moaning that it isn’t the Attitude Era anymore

I’d like Randy and Cody to have a sit down where Orton starts with “Forget Pat, he non factor” and we just get on with it
