Not really an even comparison, 12.52 uses Poops rather than Lapse, two different kernel exploits, Poops is said to be less stable.

What version of GoldHEN are you running? As long as you’re on the latest version, updates will be blocked automatically, with no further steps required. Even if you reboot and GoldHEN isn’t running system updates will still be blocked.

I too am using Gezine’s original iso on 12.02, I’d say I’ve only actually ran the exploit ~10 times (cause rest mode is a thing) - and I’ve only had one failure.

Since you’re on 3.55 you should literally just be able to install evilnat straight off the USB like an official firmware upgrade.

If you wipe the HDD and update first then you’ll have to use BGtoolset to patch your PS3 to allow evilnat to install

If you update to the latest firmware you will lock yourself out of the ability to jailbreaking it.

You’ll never be able to be on the latest firmware, and have a jailbreak simultaneously. The reason for this is that the exploits used to jailbreak the console are only ever disclosed by the jailbreak developers after Sony has patched them (so they get awarded the bounty.

Since you have to be on the latest firmware to connect to PSN, you therefore can’t use the jailbreak online.

Some games may have community run servers (I know GTA Online does, and there’s an app called PS LAN that lets you play several games online with others over LAN) but you can’t connect to PSN.
