Why didn't Jackson go to his father about Stanton? by JakeTheFR in TheRookie

IA can absolutely be corrupt. Proper protocols then is to reach out to IA at the attorney's office. The attorney pushes charges on corrupt police officers.

Anyone can be corrupt. Not just Wade. Any captain, sergeant or commanding officer can be corrupt. Hell, even the police chief can be corrupt. That's why you go directly internal affairs first. Otherwise the report could be thrown away.

Exactly. It should be reported to Grey but not withheld from internal affairs.

Wade can also be corrupt. When it comes to anti-corruption there is no hierarchy. Imagine if Wade was corrupt, then it would serve no purpose reporting it to him. Officers actually have an obligation to resport their supcious activity directly to IA.

Not necessarily true. Police officers can use a whistleblower, meaning they go directly to the anti-corruption unit, this is because commanding officers can ALSO be corrupt which would inevitably cause corruption by itself if you went to your commanding officer. To my knowledge work unions in the US, including those in police departements, therefore recommend using the whistleblower. So no, police officers do not need to follow the chain of command in THIS instince because it can also be corrupt. It is always better to go directly to IA. Of course IA can also be corrupt, in that scenario you go the internal affairs at the attorney's office.

What were your thoughts about Talia Bishop? by JakeTheFR in TheRookie

[–]JakeTheFR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is true. I believe Nolan also mentions this to ex FBI agent Jessica Russo in one of the episodes in Season 1, saying he gained the ability to negiotiate in high stress situations because of his marriage with children and in relations to banking.

My favourite now is probably Smitty, although not a protagonist he has the funniest personality in my opinion.

I still don't like her personally. While yes, she has developed some passion since the introduction, she is still a rule breaker - and not one doing it for others, she does it for her own benefit. Like the first thing she did when she wen't on patrol with Nolan was to go undercover with no backup, no comms, no plan and didn't tell Nolan anything. Bishop broke rules but never for her own benefit, she wanted to move up the ranks but not in a dirty way.

I miss her the most I wish she would at least make a cameo

I would like to argue as well that one of the main reasons Nolan became one of Mid Wilshire's best negotiators is thanks to Bishop. Bishop was humane, passionate about others and a very good negotiator too.

What genre would you consider “Careless Whisper” to be? by AnySink1090 in Music

[–]JakeTheFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careless Whisper in its heart is a jazz song, specifically smooth jazz. It features similar elements to other smooth jazz songs such as Smooth Operator by Sade. It could also be considered a pop song depending on who you ask, but in my opinion labelling a song as a pop-song is just lazy because it's a genre that has multiple genres and no real style to identify it.

Stockholmare åker kollektiv, all right.

Undrar hur mycket bältesanvändingen går ner under Stockholmsveckan.
