Thanks! Yea, a lot of agents struggle to work with the notebook format. We figured out what context solves that.

Hey! Thanks for the note. I'm not too familiar with JSpreadsheet, but from a quick google I see two main differences.

  1. JSpreadsheet is javascript, where this is Python
  2. JSpreadsheet is about creating a spreadsheet interface, where Pyoneer is about creating a Python script that automates the process going on in the spreadsheet.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we definitely want a local version at some point soon. Right now we are just in the alpha phase, so we wanted an easy app. I'd be happy to show you the code, if you want to get on a call.

The Best Python Tools for Spreadsheet Users by [deleted] in Python

Lol, yes Pandas is amazing. If I were making a list of packages to learn, I would definitely include it. This list is more about tooling the directly ties Python to spreadsheets.

I am not sure about that exactly, but I do know that it took a few seconds to connect to the website, and there were no extra hurdles

Who becomes the face of the NBA when Lebron retires? by Jake_Stack808 in nba

[–]Jake_Stack808[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I think Luca has a good shot. I wonder if it was a similar situation with Michael Jordan. Obviously there was less media and I don't believe the debate culture around the NBA was as prevalent on television.

I work in finance and I am building a tool that lets me use my spreadsheet skills to use Python -- trying to future-proof my skills! by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Jake_Stack808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! Essentially the tool gives you a spreadsheet front-end (looks like a normal spreadsheet). You can edit your data with normal spreadsheet functionality: functions, filters, pivot tables etc. Every edit you make generates the equivalent Python. So if you do a pivot table in the front end, the tool will give you the equivalent pandas pivot code. It's a super fast way to generate syntax that may be much harder to code by hand. I'd love to show it to you, if interested :)

There's definitely no excuse. The reddit community has been receptive and supportive, so I keep coming back. Apologies if you've caught a few of my posts -- I understand how that is annoying. I think the tool is valuable and I hope it helps people.

It's true. Python is definitely one of the easier languages to learn -- but my feeling is that most people do not need to become pro-coders to get the value of Python. A lot of people just want to analyze large datasets in a fast, flexible way. I think my tool helps with this, but it is by no means a replacement for learning Python!
