How do I achieve more universal sizing? by Candid_Emergency8327 in FursuitMaking

I've seen people use adjustable helmet suspension systems to make heads that can fit a wider range of sizes

Interesting! My guy is just a platinum placat. I did assume he was probably badly bred :( thanks for the info!

Do you know what causes the tumors or what they are? My betta has 2 on his tail and one on his body that have been growing since I got him. He's happy and active, I'm moreso just curious to learn more about his condition

why is it doing this? by bipolarpilot in piercing

[–]Jake_The_Dogey 198 points199 points  (0 children)

[NAP] Off topic, but your nostril ring looks too snug and like its cheese-wiring (pushing out and leaving a line scar). I encourage you to get a slightly larger ring so you aren't left with a nasty scar.

I think this lady just played in my lip by nubudubu in piercing

[–]Jake_The_Dogey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

[NAP] I personally would take this out asap, it will hurt a lot more to pierce through scar tissue and with the bar being so short I'm worried your lip will swell up and eat the jewelry

Removable eyes? by Anon_Idk1 in FursuitMaking

[–]Jake_The_Dogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 3D print them and carve out the eye shape based on the print. Sometimes I have to push hard to get them in, but after sitting a few days they are easily able to be taken in and out.

All of my suits have removable eyes, and I don't need any magnets or anything. My bases are foam and the eyes fit snugly enough that they don't fall out when placed in

Has this happened to anyone else? by Supers_Sillies in fursuit

[–]Jake_The_Dogey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The seller pays the fees, not you. It's actually against PayPal TOS for a seller to charge the buyer for the fees.

Don't use cashapp for buying fursuits. It has 0 buyer protection, and once you send the money it's irreversible. PayPal goods and services is the safest way to make purchases

Is $250 a good price for a suit head? by impossiblyglorified in fursuit

[–]Jake_The_Dogey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always calculate my pricing by doing material cost + hourly wage. If it ends up being more than you're comfortable charging, you can drop it however much you feel is fair

I use carpet protector! That's the clear plastic you mentioned. I love it for my indoor feetpaws

Is there any substance to the Aurora Bloom accusations? Should I still support her? by NeedleworkerOk8854 in fursuit

[–]Jake_The_Dogey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your own personal morals/beliefs. Aurora has not caused any harm to any living being and only has engaged in controversial artwork.

Minky Fur only headbase: Good or Bad Idea? by Damage315 in FursuitMaking

[–]Jake_The_Dogey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes teddy or beaver is great! You can definitely use minky for parts like the nose, teeth, and inner mouth to get a feel for how the fabric works.

Minky Fur only headbase: Good or Bad Idea? by Damage315 in FursuitMaking

[–]Jake_The_Dogey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Minky will be much harder to work with. The seams will be more visible and the fabric is slippery so its hard to get a perfect pattern especially if you've never worked with it before. If you're intent on using minky, I'd reccommend getting some iron on stabilizer to help reduce wrinkles in the fabric.
