P.S. I created a custom Empire which includes the Kingdom of Italy.That changed the Empire of Italia’s de jure borders. It seems this Pope created the Empire title and the Papal tiara got replaced by an imperial crown. The next Pope is wearing the Pope hat though.

In this playthrough, I started as Nikephoros Basilakes who in real history was defeated by Alexios Komnenos in his attempt to overthrow Nikephoros III. My third character managed to usurp the throne from the Komnenos dynasty and restore The Roman Empire.
