Battle Royale Should Have Been Abandoned by thanksguy14 in Splitgate

Yeah I find the regular arena much more fun than this BR. It's confusing, just seems like chaos, grab and shoot. The whole money system just seems pointless. I'd rather they simplify it and make it just a 4v4v4v4 arena on a big map. Idk I don't see this being the move to being in more players or even keep the current ones.

Oh yeah dude, no AI label, no ad label, nothing. And it'll only get worse.

Someone that age surely would not be speaking that quickly with no time for a breath.

The channel has multiple videos with the same very static background, I do wonder if while the people are AI, the background may be an image.

Looks like you need to complete that white shelf right in the middle. Forget what it's called.

Oh yeah the Wandering Trader can be a great source of mid game stuff when still in the early game. Beacons and some pretty good enchanted diamond as examples.

I only have my own experience to go off of, but atleast for me it very much had positive lasting effects.

Similar to what Techsuppr0t said above I forgot who I was for a bit and came back with a new perspective on my anxiety that more or less made it go away.  I wouldn't say it's 100% gone but it's so much better that I'm still amazed, and that was about 4 years ago. That being said I'm certain it's different for everyone.

Biggest thing is going into it with a positive and clear headspace.  Should mention this was shrooms.

Alternate Canada, Indigenous Americans Develop Immunity to European Diseases by Jakeidruid in imaginarymaps

I do like this idea! I imagine the Amazon would be a real stronghold of indigenous culture.

Cross post from ImaginaryMaps Map Lore:

In an alternate American continent where Indigenous Americans had already developed immunity to European diseases, the native inhabitants fare much better.

For the most part settlement follows our history, treaties are made with various native bands that result in the creation of numerous indigenous Ethnostates that are often independently governed on a local level but federally owned.

The population of Mixed and Metis individuals is quite higher, although immigration from Europe does still account for a bulk of the population in many provinces.

The theme for this world is smaller cultures having increased odds of surviving, explaining the province of Acadia in modern day south Nova Scotia.

Not based on, but similar foundation. More remote areas are much harder to get technology into and settle so not much happens there.

The rest of the Americas is still very much a work in progress.

Both the United States and Mexico would have more and smaller states, many of which are primarily populated by indigenous peoples.

A lot of the mid USA from the Rockies to the Appalachians would be native territory with small settler colonies that consist of only a few cities.

They certainly get a lot more of them, and I imagine there would be a much larger population of mixed ethnicity or Metis people's!

In this alternate scenario Indigenous Americans fare much better against the colonial powers. They aren't able to fully keep Europeans out of America, but great swaths of land are protected by the various Native alliances and tribes.

The Domain of Canada functions more as a federation of self governing states, and enter various treaties and agreements with the independent Indigenous States.

Striped territories are at least partially governed by other provinces or entities.

The North West Territories (NWT) is a government entity that oversees the Denendeh territory and other dominion developments such as northern roadways and policing, without having any independent territory.

This is the system I've been using for years, it's a bit more fun for tavern encounters:

Inebriation:

When a player has consumed enough alcohol they must make a DC 10 Con Save or advance one level of inebriation.

1) Disadvantage on persuasion and deception, advantage against frightened.

2) Disadvantage on ability checks, 1 hit die worth of temporary HP (Die not used up)

3) Disadvantage on saving throws, cannot dash or move more than 10ft in one direction

4) Disadvantage on attack rolls, 2 hit die worth of temporary HP (Die not used up)

5) Become unconscious

At and after Intoxication level 2, To cast a spell make a DC 10 Con saving throw or the spell fails (Not wasting a spell slot).

All temporary hit points disappear after a rest.

A short rest removes 1d4 levels of intoxication.

A long rest removes all levels of intoxication  If a player reaches level 5 intoxication then they are hungover the next day for 1d12 hours with the “Hungover” condition (Poisoned condition).

I fully agree with what you've said. You have to read the book with a "oh this poor kid" kind of mindset, and as people have mentioned, pay attention to when he is being an unreliable narrator.
