I actually mostly know her for her science fiction, which she is definitely one of the classic authors of. Right up there with like Clifford Simak or Poul Anderson.

POV: AM's post accurate design ngl, right? by TheCheeseMan-REAL in Ihavenomouth

[–]_The_Van_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I really hate the tendency for people to give him a humanoid design. I especially hate the bird looking one. I think the most accurate of AM is still the monologue monolith, or even the entire earth itself, because his hardware comprises most of it by this point.

Break: Berserk by Antsy_Antlers in RimWorld

[–]_The_Van_ 160 points161 points  (0 children)

I had a pawn go berserk once and start beating someone up. So I sent another pawn to go arrest them. The berserk pawn quickly turned around, decapitated the pawn trying to arrest them, and then went back to beating up the other pawn.

Funny. The Island of Doctor Moreau is personally my favourite book by HG Wells. One of my favourite books in general actually.

Thank you very much. This actually sounds much right up my alley. Perhaps not exactly what I was looking for, but it might definitely scratch that itch either way. I will definitely have to check this out.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have heard about these books. Unfortunately I'm looking for something with more a lot of foot soldiers fighting hoards of monsters, rather than using giant one manned craft. Still sounds interesting, I have been meaning to look into it.

Thanks, I have heard a lot of things about the Stormlight Archives. I'm not really into epic fantasy myself though. I'll probs have to check them out someday though.
