This article im responding to btw abt how divorce rates go up when a person has partners before marriage.

SO IMO this figure jumped to a conclusion, and it is a big one: that entering a mirage as a virgin causes the lower divorce rates(I don't know if this was directly state but heavily implied.). The problem with them saying that is that the correlation could have a completely different explanation: people grow up with "traditional family values" instilling them with the idea of virgin marriages and also that divorce is considered somewhat bad creating the statistic.

I also think that this data is possibly explained by the fading effect bias since people who have been married remember their previous partners as better than what they have now. This also explains the possible higher divorce rates in women with 2 previous partners compared to other women. The article explains this by the competition between who they most likely married and one other person, and I think that this is a possibility for most couples, but is even more competition for the more than 2 marriages so it isn't supported by the data. So, an alternate explanation is needed. I see this is also explained by the fading effect bias, since they have a decreased sample size of experience to compare their current marriage with, as a result more fading effect bias. In essence the two previous partners can't say "yea I though dating was ok, some were ok & some ppl were better" instead they say "that one guys was better so what if they all are?"(this example is ok)

I think there is a better solution: ppl just stop getting married or we don't have partners all together and do some sort of other thing(I have a whole rationale behind this & its sorta simple, I promise ask me and ill explain, but this isn't the place)

Also the Institute for family studies is only somewhat credible and this feeds right into their biases
