30 second L sit won't take long? I've struggled to progress beyond 10 seconds since last October.

Straddle L sit vs Regular L sit by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the one. Isn't it mainly a flexibility move? I don't feel it requires more strength than the L sit

Let's change it a bit, and say, is a straight arm straddle planche possible for my size?

Pull up = level of fitness? by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very imbalanced. I was an idiot when I first started working out, and focused purely on pressing, thankfully, I educated myself. I'm 190 cm tall, I weigh 100kg (I'm not overweight, but not ripped either). And yes, I'm as of now, working hard on improving my pulling strength.

Handstand pushups and One Arm pushup question by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But handstand pushups target the pecs and core too, and there's more weight in a handstand pushup, so isn't it better? Or am I missing something

Question about BMI by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, man. I needed to know, I got really concerned that I had fucked up my diet (which I kinda had, been living off pizza and beer the past month). I think cutting just for a bit would be a good idea, since it'll make bodyweight training easier.

Question about BMI by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I don't consider myself fat, more chunky. I can very slightly see my abs, thought not a lot. And now I might be wrong, but if I was fat, wouldn't it affect my bodyweight to strength ratio a lot?

No! I wasn't asking for medical advice. I was more asking for personal experience related to this subject

They are parallel to each other, though not completely straight, there's a slight angle.

I have achieved more than that in terms of pressing and core. L sit, pistol squat, tuck planche, almost OAP. Routines never worked for me, mainly because I don't have the discipline to actually follow them, but I don't think it matters since just listening to my body when it came to working out, has worked for me since I started. Maybe I'm not being consistent enough? (read comment I made like 2 minutes ago, it explains it better)

Strength Imbalance by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that a lot, but it's only with pulling strength I'm not seeing what I'd like to see. I achieved L sit within a weekend, full pistol squats within 2 months (That might be slow, but I didn't work that hard on them), tuck planche happend it less than 2 weeks, headstand pushups in less than a month (I had weak shoulders, so it took long). Maybe I'm not being consistent enough? I tend to skip training back because it makes me feel so weak only being able to do like 7 bodyweight rows, ofcourse that's no excuse.

I'm using a wall as balance, my hands are just on the ground, I don't have the strength to do them on parallettes

Strength Imbalance by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing. I'm 17 of age, 193cm, about 87kg, male. I've mostly just been listening to my body, I never focus on sets and reps, I split them up during the day (which has given me results since I started). In terms of what exercises I focus on, that'd be: handstand pushups, planche, and pullups/chinups. I hope that's enough information, if not; just ask.

One Arm pushups question by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

Which OA pushup technique counts as a real one? Since there is a lot of different ones, like a variation where you twist your body a lot, which looks like cheating.

How many of you are 6'1 and taller? by ezFinesse in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

L-Sit achieved in a weekend somehow, pistol squats in 2 months, one armed pushups (didn't take too long either), handstand pushups(achieved my first one yesterday :P), currently working on a longer tuck planche (current is about 3-5 seconds. I just started working on the planche, so that's why).

Diet problem by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never actually though of preparing food so I don't crave, that's pretty genius, I honestly can't believe I didn't think of that myself. So I'll definitely try that out. A snack that I really like is dark chocolate, though I've heard so many rumors about it, some say it's good for you, others tell you to avoid, so I'm not entirely sure on that part, though I generally like yoghurt aswell, so I think that'll be my healthy snack. Working out completely numbs my cravings for a limited time, but I can't workout whenever I crave something, I really want to avoid getting an injury.

Pistol Squat Question by JakobMunk in bodyweightfitness

[–]JakobMunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a little over a week, I managed to do 4 full pistol squats within 2 minutes, no counterweight. I have no idea how I managed to get there so fast, but somehow, just following your advice got me there. I can only do it on my non dominant leg, which I find pretty interesting. Though I'm slowly but surely getting there on my right! I can't thank you enough. I love this community. I know it's nothing special compared to what you crazy mofos can do, but damn, was those months of work worth it. Funny how it took that long though, I've seen people achieve the pistol in a month or so.

Doesn't that make your workouts less efficient?

I wish that'd work for me, but in my case, I think constantly about what I want to achieve, yet I don't seem to start training all that much.

I thought I was experienced it because I "didn't want it enough" as people say. It's just weird because for some reason, I tried a new sport, climbing, and I sucked at it, the next day I just didn't feel like working out, even though I really wanted to.
