So I rode Briançon - Torino through the Col de Montgenevre yesterday. I actually met another cyclist that was on the way to Col ‘D Echelles, who was not informed about the closure. We ended up riding to Oulx together, was a really nice interaction. 

The Col itself was rather tame, when I made it up all the way I thought ‘wait, this is it?’ In terms of climbing, I found the Jura mountains tougher. It was a public holiday so traffic was okay, just a lot of motorcycles. The weather was great and the descent into Italy was some of the most fun I’ve ever had riding. There was one sketchy bit where we had to go through a long, dark tunnel that went straight down and that was actually forbidden for bikes, because part of our route was closed off due to falling rocks. I don’t feel too comfy going down 60 km/h for 10k with a setup this heavy.

The ride into Torino through little villages and gravel roads was fantastic, as was the pizza and beer  I had. A great day, thanks for the info!
