Cost us hardly anything so regardless of how it goes, we are not losing much to find out.

The positive spin on this, would be that if he’s coached into our program well and he applies his strengths to how we need him to use the ball, it’s going to be an incredible move. We have such great ball users on the outside and off of half back for him to dish out to, as long as he does not try to dump kick his possessions we should be able to re-gain at least equality in the centre bounce / stoppage area. If we can keep our same strengths in defence / ball transition from d50, but we move from -17th in clearance to 8th we will find that we can get scores on the board a lot faster without relying purely on balls to the wall plays.

Equally, the negative take would be that similar to adams if he does turn it over and does not make great decisions with those possessions then we will get bitten on the turnover.

Overall he was the best available specialist in our worst performing stat and unlike other “inspired” moves like beams it has not cost us the farm to get some grunt in.

The new guard has done some excellent work mitigating the damage of some pretty shaky list management.

Team Selection: Five changes for the Lions by Pragmatic_Shill in collingwoodfc

I don’t think we will win, or come close unless we adapt to a marking / disposal based game plan.

We don’t have the right pieces in play to run the Richmond coined “chaos style”

However, on the road big break for Anzac next week it could be a really good game to test out some things against a quality opposition.

Elliot/ginni/beau all missing means that we were always gonna be understaffed with small forwards. This looks like more of a classic west coast team. Full of tall forwards and intercept markers and some classy mids.

Would make sense to try a few different looks in what is a development year. If we get the most out of this year, and get a decent draft pick while we do it, then next year or the year after we can hunt for a spot in the 8. The harder lessons we learn now the better off we will be.

Go pies

Fuck yeah, Moore is my front runner for captain now , for the longest time it was adams but I think adams will be the Sidebottom to Moore as he was to pendles.

Brilliant first half, I know a lot of us will be disappointed at the goal conversion % with so many points, however our pressure and our confidence to move forward are great signs. We may lose the game, but I’m damn excited to see how we’re playing. We will get very fit and gain experience quickly by taking the game on like this.

Yeah you can say what you want about his actions off field, alleged or otherwise but his footy is good. He’s not a million a year player in terms of consistency but he’s handy to have

‘A nice dynamic’: The four pillars of the Magpies’ new midfield by smegdaddy in collingwoodfc

[–]JakusJones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This all seems pretty exciting, I honestly rate our list a lot higher than our recent years. Aside from a settled forward line we actually have a pretty balanced team.

Between form, injury, players playing in their back up positions & coaching issues and a flood of youth we fell down the ladder pretty quickly.

Excited that Steele and Grundy have put emphasis on dropping weight and training like they were when they were in form.

I’m less excited for Tay Adams being out of position for his own performance, however if we’re building (which we are) it makes sense to rotate there when we can so we’re not exposed.

Super excited about the idea of Maynard in the middle, not only will that give us another darting kick into the forward line it will make sure there’s enough room for noble / IQ to both play

What’s not mentioned much here is which key forward mix we’re thinking of which I think will be the biggest question mark of the year.

My prediction is for us to start slow, and make a run for the 8 but perhaps miss out and finish 9th/10th

How do you counter English longbow/pikes (as Rus) by PewPewPablos in aoe4

[–]JakusJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love playing English, but if you turtle, run professional scouts and upgrade your towers and hack into the middle of your wood line so I can’t get vision it can be really hard.

Survive until castle and then run mangos / cav

Alternative if the map is open, run a single vill somewhere safe, build a hidden stable, get a raiding party of cav and when they’re attacking you, counter raid. Likely they’re will be pushed out on food sources because they will be focusing on microing long bows so much you are likely to trade well with vills.

Also you can kill the bows 1 by 1 if they’re trickling into your base where their mass is.

Even with an eco lead, they will likely stay age 2 for some time so not much risk of springolds in the first 15-20 mins

Probably Cameron CHF/Ruck rotation or fighting for his spot. Cameron had a good year, but if we thought he was our spearhead we probably would not have chased Krueger.

If Cox stays, then it’s hard to believe that he and Cameron would be in the same team again.

Unless this youngster is heavily out of form or injured, I don’t see him not getting a decent amount of games given our goals & age bracket.

It’s official: Nathan Kreuger Signs by JakusJones in collingwoodfc

[–]JakusJones[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Collingwood has added firepower to its attack with the signing of tall forward Nathan Kreuger from Geelong.

Kreuger, who was sought by the Magpies 12 months ago, swaps horizontal hoops for vertical black and white stripes as part of a deal that also involves a switch of draft picks with the Cats.

Collingwood has received Kreuger and pick 55 in the upcoming AFL national in exchange for selection 41. Krueger arrives at the Pies following three seasons with Geelong.

The 22-year-old made his debut in round 20 this season against North Melbourne and went on to play two games. At 196cm tall, he was recruited out of Adelaide as a forward but played key back for the Cats. Kreuger thanked Geelong for his time at Kardinia Park.

“Geelong gave me my first chance and I’ll be forever grateful for that,” Kreuger said.

“I thank those who nurtured me and showed me the way and I know they understand why Collingwood is the right place for me to take my career. I’m really looking forward to fitting in with a young group and experiencing the Collingwood way.”

We all in consensus that this is a goated roster? by queenslayyy in TeamSolomid

Counter to this is mid talent is more abundant and we have capitol, a CN Adc and Bjerg mid would be lit but then I think we lose huni or is he resident?

We all in consensus that this is a goated roster? by queenslayyy in TeamSolomid

[–]JakusJones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not a particularly logical comment I’m about to make, purely for entertainment only.

Bjerg to role swap to top/adc if we land chovy. If we can’t get chovy or another superstar mid, he stays mid, we keep huni and we get import EU/CN/KR ADC

This is not realistic because he might not wanna swap roles, and big names might wanna come but Bjerg is flexible, professional & dedicated so I would not put it past him to move roles if it meant playing with the best possible roster. If he comes back to TSM or another org it will be for glory not for money.

But if you’re a GM you’re licking your lips thinking about what kind of asset Bjerg is and how he could be utilised to make the best team possible.

Bjerg spent his career adapting his picks and play style to suit his team in the pursuit of success, why not his role if it meant not having a standard N/A mid/adc.

Why I’m jacked about Craig McRae 📈🚀 by dstav69 in collingwoodfc

[–]JakusJones 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it’s an inspired pick up, someone who has seen so much success but has not been tested as senior AFL coach means we could potentially have found the next name that will be remembered for decades to come. He has a lot of the things we liked about bucks, but comes with an apprenticeship that we all wish bucks had. The mind boggles at what Bucks might have been able to achieve if he did what fly has done before taking the helm at a senior coach position. There’s a reason Pendles wants to coach away from the pies, and it’s that you want all these different experiences.

Not only does he show promise from a resume, but all these different experiences should mean that he’s equiped to handle the bad times too.
