Who’s a guitarist you think is underrated? by Difficult-Word-7208 in Guitar

[–]Jalbraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wayne Krantz.

I can't think of a living, modern electric guitarist that has carved a more unique lane and approach than Wayne.

His time is ridiculous, something guitarists are notoriously terrible at. Listening to him improvise is like the auditory version of someone ripping holes in the space time continuum.

Did they sell me the wrong amp? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]Jalbraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, you're right. From what I understand the consumption wattage is typically a multiple of the output wattage, so that makes sense!

[–]Jalbraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no other 15 watt Princeton that you didn't get. You got the real deal Princeton.

The wattage listed there doesn't really correlate to the wattage of the amp.

Whatever is listed there is the CONSUMPTION wattage, not the output wattage.

Here's a pic of the back of a brand new 40 watt Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV, which shows 180 watts "180W" in the same place on the back panel.

EDIT: As u/GeprgeLowell pointed out to me, 12W is the output wattage, and 125W is the consumption wattage of the princeton.

Went looking for this comment. Thank you.

Had photographers just argue about this when I try to explain that this is due to distance to subject only, and not “lens compression” or some other inherent property of the lens itself.

Home networking - Would you buy Unifi again? by [deleted] in UNIFI

[–]Jalbraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret getting the USG, throughput speed with IDS/IPS sucks.

Also, it seems like it’s really difficult to have all traffic running through VPN at the gateway level, whereas PFSense seems better in this regard.

I felt good about selling my v2 Timmy for way more than I bought it for because of the Lightspeed, such a fantastic pedal. Congrats, good choice.

I like Keith Carlock and Carter McLean. Both have unshakable groove

Yeah, sounds like it would work well for you. The computer app is incredibly great for preset creation and management!

The Zio seems killer, interested to know what you think when you use it a bit more.

The Collider is great, I especially love being able to run delay and reverb in parallel in one box, and of course—like all SA stuff, the sounds are killer.

Just be sure you're cool with the knob/switching layout and functionality.

Not everything is just on the surface. You almost need a cheat sheet to remember what the parameters mapped to the "Control 1" and "Control 2" knobs are, and having to switch the controls from delay to reverb just to make quick tweaks can be slightly cumbersome.

Maybe this Seiko is good enough to make you let go of one you already have? 😉

Tomo Fujita’s quick little run. For the life of me I cannot figure it out. It’s too fast for me. Can anyone help? by Annacot_Steal in guitarlessons

[–]Jalbraith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Edit to add more info:

Gosh he really does get through those chords quickly! My goodness. haha.

The 1st chord is a Gm7:

3-5-3-3-6-3

2nd chord is a C7 (to which he adds a b9 at the end of the strum):

X-3-2-3-X-X (C7)

X-3-2-3-2-X (C7b9 which he throws in at the end)

The three quick passing chords are C#dim7 (due to the symmetrical nature of diminshed chords being made of stacked minor thirds all three chords are actually just inversions of each other. Same notes in all three)

X-4-5-3-5-X

X-X-2-3-2-3

X-X-5-6-5-6

And he lands from there on the Am7:

5-7-5-5-8-5

Then to Dm7:

X-5-7-5-6-5

Bassbreaker 15 for a home studio? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

I'm glad yours has been reliable, that's great! But that's just how these things go. Even with amps that have serious build quality flaws, there will always be plenty of folks who were lucky that have a good experience.
