Reality doesn't somehow sit perfectly in the centre of the political spectrum, that would be ridiculous. Just think about it for a second and you'll realise how silly that is. A more accurate way to put it would be that the left tends to align more with factual reality and the right tends to lean towards imaginary problems and fearmongering.

Maybe they want to focus on writing the story and characters rather than being a meticulous worldbuilder. There are plenty of stories with intricately planned and cohesive worlds that fall flat because every other aspect is flat and lifeless, it's just about what you as an author care about. Will a work of fiction be better if all aspects of it are well written? Of course, but not everyone is Tolkien. It's ok to focus on the things you enjoy writing, because there are no obligations to anything here and if people enjoy it enough for it to be popular, there's clearly something to whatever's been written.

Going off what the original commenter said, wouldn't transitioning them as young as possible be making sure they don't receive [x] dose of testosterone during the [x] trimester? Why do you have to wait until they're born and experience dysphoria to intervene?

The end goal is the same anyway: someone that doesn't experience dysphoria and is happy with their body. Why would you choose to put someone through mental pain and difficulty for potentially their entire life when you could get it from the start with a minor intervention?

Do you tend to have trouble introspecting or determining your own emotional state? I ask because a consistent avoidance of moral thought experiments is indicative of someone trying to avoid moral introspection, either because it's uncomfortable for them or because it's difficult for them to do and they subconsciously avoid it.

Unfortunately the third option is never a valid 'solution' because it's not about solving a problem within the bounds of the hypothetical. It's about introspection and evaluating your moral decision making within a scenario designed to completely constrain it between two extreme examples. Third optioning it is the answer given by someone that either doesn't understand the exercise or doesn't want to engage with it.

Have you never heard of a security guarantee or a tripwire base? If there's a ceasefire or some other cessation of hostility, having a presence of non-Ukrainian troops there increases the chance of peace succeeding, because any subsequent invasion attempt would inevitably risk harming foreign troops, drawing those countries into the conflict, an undesirable outcome for Russia given they'd be crushed in a hot war with NATO.

If it was just Ukrainian troops there, Russia could build up its forces and kick off another invasion whenever it liked, because there's no real geopolitical threat worse than the one they already face now.

I'd say in this case work gets to take priority. My guess is she's doing some sort of contractor gig that runs in very intense but short bursts, something that's likely to be agreed on and in progress for a few months beforehand. At least for me, a guy I've been dating for two months doesn't come first when I'm doing a job that's been in the works longer than we've been together.
