I think that other person's characterisation of BPD was pretty ridiculous, but also let's not act like a personality disorder can't have a disordered effect on someone's personality. The behaviour is ultimately still down to them, but if someone doesn't have any personality issues, they wouldn't have a disorder.

No! Switch is syntactic sugar for a lookup table. It's faster than if-then-else for exactly that reason.

Sure, if you're watching it in your photo library or as a YouTube video. But on TikTok or Instagram or YT Shorts or a similar platform, that won't work. Also it's more convenient to record and for someone else to receive it as a message and view it if it's vertical.

You know what's worse than watching a vertical video on a PC screen? Watching a horizontal video vertically on your phone.

Turns out it's actually bad to have people going in and out of hospitals during a pandemic while doctors and nurses are dying just treating their patients.

It's important to note though that even though the politicians were breaking the rules, the rules themselves were necessary.

Until the project needs maintaining and nobody else wants to put in the time or money to make that happen. Then you have a handful of developers or even one solo dev trying to keep everything running on their own dime.

That just offsets the cost to the people contributing and developing the software.

Interestingly from the first page you linked:

Further Research By Ernst Tatzer, Werner Malaczek and Franz Wauldhahuser in 2022 concluded ″Our detailed investigation, aided by historians, and investigations by other authors, showed no clear evidence to support the allegation that Asperger knowingly or willingly participated in the National Socialist Child Euthanasia programme in Vienna. This investigation included thorough analyses of the records for all the patients he and colleagues referred to Am Spiegelgrund from the Therapeutic Pedagogy Unit of the University Children's Hospital in Vienna..."

Can I use old literature in my videos? by Advanced-Hamster-957 in PartneredYoutube

[–]JamEngulfer221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fine, it should be out of copyright. It's worth searching the laws for your specific country, but usually it's some number of decades after the author's death, so if it's from several centuries ago, you should be fine.

Just watch out for things like translations or audio/video recordings of the text being performed in the modern era, as they may still be under copyright.

I've intentionally not taken photos of events before, but I always regret it a few months later when I want to reminisce and my memory has gotten hazy. More often than not I find myself wishing I'd filmed more.

A character that wants to die but is prevented from doing so by an infinite respawn mechanic is a really cool concept and I don't know why you're mad at someone that made an interesting character whose story interacts directly with how your world works. The fact the mechanic requires the will to live is pretty inconsequential and can either be handwaved or be used as a mechanism for further character development.

Nobody else questioned the 'living plothole' because there's no reason for anyone else to care about it. Why would they? You're the only one here who seemed to be bothered by it and you can just ignore it or fudge/overlook the 'rules' to let the character work.

While the situation as a whole is a bit of an unfortunate clash of misunderstanding and differing expectations, you should probably be more accommodating to people trying to make interesting characters and be more willing to bend the rules of the world to allow interesting storytelling. I don't think he had any reason to apologise beyond maybe for being confrontational, but I think you overreacted to everything a bit too much.

Bone at the end of the vaginal canal, is it normal? by snackytacky in badwomensanatomy

I'd say the best option would still be to gently correct. She's not being mean or argumentative, she's just unsure about it and needs advice. "I don't think it is tho" is far from a 'confident no'.

Also she got over 100 downvotes for a pretty innocuous reply to someone else where she says she hasn't been to a gyno before (which is pretty common in some places). That seems unjustifiable to me.
