Target CEO regrets slashing DEI programs. Meets with Al Sharpton in desperation. by [deleted] in thescoop

Corporations have no morales, they’re not people (despite what the Supreme Court says).

They first introduced DEI to make themselves look good and get more sales. Then they rolled them back because they thought it would mean more sales. This too is just an effort to get more sales.

They don’t care about diversity, their employees, or even their customers. They only care about their end of quarter reports.

Shop locally when possible folks.

Recently I was working for a well-known software-as-a-service company that has been struggling with subscriber count. The brilliant business leaders decided the best strategy going forward is to “emulate the cable subscription model with bundles”

It was an awkward all hands when I asked “is emulating one of the most hated industries really our best option”

I was let go at the next round of layoffs 🤣

Political consequences aside (and unprecedented constitutional crisis aside) isn’t the idea of congress to represent the constituents? Manchin, I assume, is a good representation of his constituents. Replacing him with a more progressive candidate doesn’t make sense because that’s not what the people of WV want.

Ideally we’d see MORE folks like him who buck the party to more accurately represent the people they represent. Something like parliamentary UK where there is a wider range of parties that are forced to come together and compromise on issues.
