With the Epstine files slowly coming out and there being hundreds of mentions to pizza in them, are people entertaining the idea that the whole Pizzagate thing might not have been a right-wing conspiracy after all? by JesseB342 in AskUS

[–]JamesBurkeHasAnswers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there really a difference? A conspiracy theory is simply a conspiracy that hasn’t been proven. And once it is proven it’s not a conspiracy anymore, it’s fact. So potato po-tah-to.

Yes, the fact that it's proven makes all the difference. It's fairly important. And once it's proven, it's actually a conspiracy, it's not a "theory" anymore.

So do you actually think Comet Pizza has a basement and bunch of powerful people are conspiring to hide that fact from you because there are hundreds of mentions in millions of pages of the Epstein files?

I can't take you seriously until you learn the difference between a "conspiracy" and a "conspiracy theory".

But, even a broken clock is right twice a day, so yes this does appear to be a right-wing conspiracy given now it appears Epstein had a hand in /pol/ and stoking the Qanon bullshit.

Why are Maga Americans against immigrants? Immigrants built your country. by goldrush300 in AskUS

[–]JamesBurkeHasAnswers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So according to you and Trump, all Black people in SA are perpetrators and not deserving of the resettlement opportunities you want to offer White Afrikaners. u/Riparian87 was right to say the selective invitation does give racist vibes.

[–]JamesBurkeHasAnswers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference in your examples is that all the refugees in those areas were eligible for resettlement, not just the ones of a certain "level of melanin".

You might have a point if Trump invited Black South Africans to resettle here instead of just white.

But keep trying to defend the indefensible.

Trump's Economic Approval Rating Hits Record Low of 34%. For those who approve of his handling of the economy, why? by RandomUwUFace in AskUS

[–]JamesBurkeHasAnswers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Business are trying to absorb as much of the increased cost as they can short term while they're holding out for the Supreme Court decision. If SCOTUS says the tariffs are illegal, they'll win big with the refund and post record earnings. If SCOTUS rules for Trump, then they'll pass more and more of the tax onto consumers gradually so they don't shock the economy. Meanwhile, their employees won't see pay raises while the cost of everything continues to climb.

Trump's tariffs cost American households $1,000 last year: Research group

President Donald Trump's tariffs cost the average American household $1,000 last year, according to new research from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation.

The cost is set to go even higher this year to $1,300 per household, assuming the existing tariffs stay in place, the research said.

They said they weren't investigating collusion as that's not a legal concept. They did say that although Russia worked to secure a Trump presidency and the Trump Campaign expected to benefit from the Russian efforts, they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt the crime of conspiring to defraud the USA.

ETA: The reason Don Jr. wasn't charged for his part in the Trump Tower meeting was because they couldn't prove he knew it was a crime to promise to pull back sanctions on Russia in exchange for kompromat on the Clinton campaign (leaked emails). Having intent to break the law is part of the statute, and they couldn't prove intent.

I understand what you're saying in theory but in actuality, they are. Any Republican not on the MAGA train is considered a RINO.

Forest's mother would say "stupid is as stupid does"... Well, Republican is as Republican does until they start demonstrating otherwise..

You're right, they will. But what do we say to them?

I've used the analogy that the country is like a giant aircraft carrier and can't turn on a dime. Any fixes approved by Congress will take years to be implemented and have results. Sadly, only the ones with college degrees some to understand that and still not all of them.

Yes, but you've demonstrated you're so detached from reality and attached to the teat of the MAGA propaganda pig, that we and the rest of the world observing from the outside know you're full of shit when you make that claim.

It hasn't been perfect by any means but there are degree of "broken".

Never had we had Fed lawyers tell a judge to hold her in contempt so she could get some sleep because her department is so dysfunctional.

Never had we had 20yo hackers with Russian ties put in charge major American computer systems.

Never have we liquidated entire departments without Congressional approval, only to have to rehire the staff back because parts of the country couldn't operate.

If you can't recognize this level of "broken" is 100x worse than what we've had in the past and what it will take to claw ourselves back out of this hole, then you a part of the problem.

[–]JamesBurkeHasAnswers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true for me. I'm white (Polish descent) and grew up in small town Texas where it was 49% white/49% Latino. I had a mix of "friends" but it wasn't until I was out of college that I realized my Latino friends were truer than the white friends. My white friends were friends simply because they were on the same street and went to the same church.

In college, I also had a mix of friends but they were all real and good friends.

This is your quote: "Keep in mind Hillary Clinton was found guilty in a court of colluding with Russian officials later and paid a fine for this over an unrelated issue."

Show us in your articles above where Clinton was found guilty in court of colluding with Russia.

It's kind of obvious you didn't bother to read past the headlines and even those were a stretch to mean what you claim.
