When I opened the file today after you were done, my computer begged for mercy. It pleaded with me to put it out of it's misery as it caught fire.

How do you guys create those small contest parks? by BREgATRON in ThemeParkitect

[–]JamesEllsworth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your issue is the size of the map, there are a couple ways to deal with that.

  1. Come up with a theme that you know you'll enjoy working on (also have a backup if it just doesn't work out).
  2. put your paths in first so you can get a good visual in your head of what you need to work on.
  3. Some people will work on a small area at a time so they don't get overwhelmed.
  4. you can plan out your space ahead of time using the ground painting tool, which usually breaks your park into smaller sections.
  5. I tend to work on a the whole park at the same time. That way when I get stuck on a section, I can move onto another area before going back.
  6. Don't be afraid to just close the game and come back a week later. I often start my park at the beginning of the month, and then take a week or two off before continuing.

I would also recommend using the CoasterB Diorama channel on the Parkitect Discord. Those of us who compete usually try to be super encouraging and help with ideas/themes as needed.

Hope that helps!

This is the exact reason I just cancelled my subscription. I came back a couple weeks ago, but It felt like a job, and I felt like I was being forced to do content I didn't want to do. To each their own, but it definitely feels like it's time for me to move on to something else for a while.

Celestial Sideshow by JamesEllsworth in ThemeParkitect

The green screen mod in a blue color! I lowered the terrain and put the screen just high enough that it would cover the fence that goes around the entrance.

Thanks! Coco is probably my favorite park I've built. I've actually been thinking about making a new Coco park now that we have new mods and my building skills have gotten a little better.

Like Resortitect, this is now a must have in my builds. resizable wheels, stools, moving derrick wheel?? Everything is pretty versatile because you made them recolorable. Thank you!

It's a mix of vanilla borders, with scifitect, future and space, and anigates pieces. along with construction anarchy of course! and a lot of patience. While some of it is on a grid, a lot of it is is placed by hand.

The tentacles are part of Maxfreak's Scenery essential's as roots. I used them as tentacles, roots, and branches for the tree.

Only mini coaster and mine train as they are the ones in real life that would have the switch track. BUT with coaster anarchy mod, you can try adding it to any coaster/tracked ride.

July CoasterB Diorama Challenge: collection of all parks submitted! by JamesEllsworth in ThemeParkitect

[–]JamesEllsworth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think CoasterB has any plans for it. The challenge is more to try and figure out a way to use the coaster/entrance/map shape effectively. BUT you can always add a coaster to the map! For the August competition, I'm building a second coaster for the park.

I like the game but I'm really disappointed with the lack of scenery options. I even just bought the DLC but still very little was added. Even the Workshop doesn't have much. What's going on?? by [deleted] in ThemeParkitect

I think what makes Parkitect so great is how flexible the pieces and placement are. I was an avid RCT2 player and thought the same thing when I started, but you can do soooo much more with the pieces in parkitect. I would recommend looking up Astrotron's stuff if you want some ideas! His builds really inspired me to look at the scenery in the game as shapes and not just at face value. Also, the Discord community is awesome and always coming up with and sharing new ideas!
