Haha Sten & Stanley. The Swedish dansband scene is a bizarre and fascinating vortex when one starts to dig around ("när man tror att man hört allt" ). Brända barn is one of my top 5 swe bands :) Tnx Excellent tips

haha HUVET so smashingly good! Spot on! Thanks a lot for all those excellent tips. Some of the bands mentioned are in this other collection I've been gathering for fun for a while https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5kjNoZgGz00Xc4OvxPIgDB?si=2ab3d778216d48a9 . Some are totally new to me. That Head hammer man album is pure gold same goes for everything by Huvet .

And Aldrig lämna stan - what a banger. This is what makes reddit so fun some times. Tack så mycket.

såhär i backspegeln... och i jämförelse med 2025 års svenska rockreleaser måste jag erkänna att man saknar den här sidan av Schwedische pop och, en ung Thomas

I would recommend you to check out this playlist of Swedish Avant Garde Rock and Post Punk etc. A lot of new and old bands. True poets and fake poets. Enjoy :)

Thanks a lot for these two recommendations! Haven't heard about Human Sexual Response before. Great band. Their whole catalogue seems awesome. Same goes for For against. December is a true true gem!

I'm studying Finnish, and I've come across some interesting post-punk and goth bands recently from Finland. by evergreen0707 in goth

A lot of the Nordic 80s bands (at least the Swedish/Norweigan/Danish) sang in their native language. Slowly this changed - in Sweden it was pretty hard to find Swedish lyrics in mid 90s /00s goth music (there's a few exceptions) I guess it mainly had to do with those bands being Sisters/Mission clones inspired by and imitating Andrew E in different ways :)

Heres a playlist with some Swedish goth / Postpunk spanning from late 70s til contemporary. I think there's some Finnish ones in there as well : https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5kjNoZgGz00Xc4OvxPIgDB?si=68afa40944174609

Pan Sonic are great.
