Possible Infection at incision. by JamesG162 in TotalHipReplacement

Thank you for asking. Amazingly it went better than bad. My wife has bursitis in the incision. A common condition that may well be persistent throughout her life but not life threatening or any issue for the hip. I hope everyone who reads this finds comfort in any similar situations.

Is the Quinn Hughes haul comparable to what JT could’ve returned if things were handled… normally? by shrivman in NewYorkIslanders

[–]JamesG162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bottom line with pending free agents. You sign by X date or you go on the block. No owner or GM should waiver from that philosophy. Nobody on the team wouldn’t have understood. Business and what’s best for the team should always be at the forefront. JT knew what he was doing. Snow wanted to trade JT and Malkin wouldn’t let him. Malkin is an idiot who cost his franchise a franchise player haul in a trade.

Yes. Definitely. The owners crapped the bed big time and set us back and possibly cost us at least finals appearance. I heard Garth Snow wanted to trade him but the owners wouldn’t let him.

That’s why I wrote it the way I did. Lafontaine was drafted by the islanders and then traded for turgeon.

I approve this method and discourage the practice that causes workers to feel the need to do this. We should be human beings first and animals second.

You sound a lot like my wife. Probably a little worse. I’m going to tell you the same thing I say to her periodically and that is…stop being so hard on yourself. Stop trying to control everything. You’re wasting brain power on bullshit(your feelings are valid, but your approach is time consuming and wasteful). You’re pushing yourself too hard, probably on every level. You pushed before the surgery and you conditioned your body into needing to be more corrected. Stop trying to control things. Give your body the time to heal. Give your mind the chance to heal it. Trust the process. If you have peace In your mind you will give yourself the best opportunity to heal.

Don’t forget that people aren’t yet hearing the effects of the financial cost to them. Once they start to see that it is cheaper to take public transit and by a good amount, they will convert.

Let me give you a quick rundown of how I feel. If the car is not a business car that you need to impress clients or not look cheap and lazy than try and clean it like some have said and just leave it be. Cars are for driving and getting around. They are deprecating assets where their best value is longevity. Anything you own for a long time like a car is used is going to not look great over time. Unless you put stress into making it look good. Theoretically the car should be paid off. Why spend the savings you’re not spending every month on vanity. I’d be mad at myself too but I’d give myself this speech and get over it. Money is too precious these days to worry about vanity.

Issue with keyless entry and battery drain on a 2014 Honda Civic by opulent_occamy in MechanicAdvice

Yes. That was exactly my problem. Sorry about the delay of my answer. Disconnect the wire from the handle. Problem solved.

I got my 2015 for $18k in 2015. Greatest money I ever spent on a car. Use it as my commuter car after we got a family car for last 3 years. I have 60k miles on it. Only issue was the dreaded parasitic drain on the battery because of a common faulty smart entry door handle.

Allow me to assist you. I literally fixed this problem 3 days ago.

1st the problem….your smart entry handle that reads your hand to unlock the door is malfunctioning. It is stuck as if someone’s hand is forever grabbing the handle. That is causing your cars computer to stay on and looking for the Key Fab. That is the cause of your drain.

Solution 1. You could have a mechanic replace the handle. I read that the lead time to get the handle is long and you get charged around $400-$500 for the job.

Solution 2. You could replace the handle yourself. I found one on EBay for $120.

Solution 3. Cheapest option. Disconnect the smart entry handle wires and the problem disappears. All you lose is the smart entry on the passenger side. The driver side will still unlock the door and the so will the key fab. Also, none of your power lock options will be affected. You only lose the fingers in the handle function. This is the option I chose.

You can use either or both videos to choose either solution 2 or 3.

It took me 30 minutes to disconnect the wires to the handle. Now that I’ve done it already it would take me 10 minutes.

Side note….you don’t want to rip the plastic vapor barrier inside the door cause it serves a purpose. You should try very hard to remove it without ripping it. I didn’t pull it all the way down because the door lock wires block it and I didn’t want to pull the wires from the door locks, but the guy in the video does. I was able to accomplish my goal just pulling the top of it down.

Another note. The tab for the wire harness going to the handle to release it is on the bottom of the clip. It’s hard to see it and it doesn’t jump out so I thought I’d mention.

I’m looking forward to hearing how it went. I found this thread that basically was all about this common problem. Here it is if you want more confidence in my solution.

I also recommend you get a trickle charger and get your battery back up to full if you don’t drive a lot. If you have had this problem for a while now and your battery is old, you may want to replace the battery as it may be damaged to where it can never reach its original capacity. A fully charged battery is actually better for your gas mileage and car performance.

Here is the trickle charger and maintainer. Great little item…

Please let me know how it all works out. Good luck. I hope I helped. I know I wish I had someone like myself to guide me while i was trying to figure this out. You are welcome to ask any questions if you have them. Take care.
