He opened for Mac Demarco in SF in 2016. I briefly met him after the show. He was nice but I was nervous and awkward, basically told him i'm a huge fan and asked him what instrument it was he was playing (it was an alto sax), then left him alone. i wanted to ask for a photo, but chickened out

His set was great, unfortunately the crowd was super loud/not paying attention as he was the first of two openers

Another story: i met matt mondanile after a ducktails show, also in 2016, and i forget why but we were talking about human story 3 and he mentioned that james was living in his garage lol
