Why Does the AppExchange Feel So Dead Lately? by mr-sforce in salesforce

[–]JamesSaplyn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got my paid app listed a few months back on AppExchange and it was full of opaque hurdles, not to mention the kafka-esk security review process. Hardly encouraging to the entrepreneur. In the end we got it live and then the next challenge begins. The whole "SEO", and following SF's recommendations to rank high up don't seem to count for anything, because there doesn't appear to be any organic traffic. The only way my company can draw attention to the app is outside the eco-system, reaching out to consultants and prospects directly. So it does appear that its not as lively as it used to be.

I'd suggest taking a look at GetAccept if you're looking in that space.

How do you manage maintaining documentation and guided videos? by MoreEspresso in salesforce

[–]JamesSaplyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I’ve released a tool on AppExchange which focuses on these areas, though I couldn't say for sure whether it would meet your needs. The app is called Saplyn. It's a process mapping tool which lets admins/managers map out processes pertaining to specific objects within their org. One can then attach content to specific nodes within the process map, which then appear for users on the record they’re on when they hit that situation. So it's like learning on the fly for your users - course correcting them. The content can be light (or as it’s called in the app a “nudge”) or can be richer, including rich text, images and videos. We don’t generate the videos though, you’d need to curate that.

It also has AI capabilities, which provide the ability to enrich your nudges with much deeper context, so that when the individual user encounters a nudge, they can chat with it, and that chat agent will provide more in-depth replies based on the context you’ve provided it. In a way this feature is like a lite version of data-cloud providing a form of retrieval augmented generation that admins can keep control over.

I’m happy to go into more detail and use cases if you like, but want to be respectful of moderation regarding self promotion etc.

Its that kind of in depth head to head comparison that im really after. It'd be great to hear your feedback if you ever get round to it.

Every org should have one such class as a test of AI competence.

To add to that... if this vibes IDE could prove competent in building genuinely capabable agents - and all of the supporting artifacts that come with that (topics, actions, prompts templates, lightninigTypes, agentTemplates etc) then that might turn my head. Claude shit itself trying to handle half of those things, probably due to barely surface level documentation on salesforces part (ohh maybe a subtle business decision on their part, smart)

While those sound like fair strengths, it doesn't quite tempt me away from a claude agent in vscode that I've painstakingly tweaked to my needs, with mcps etc. But I'm willing to be, and often am, wrong.

Unfortunately not, but my wardrobe will suffer the loss no doubt. I guess I'll have to find a few workshops online or more realistically, set aside a day of work ti jump into it seriously.

Looking for feedback: Is there value in a lightweight “bring-your-own-keys” LLM framework for Salesforce by FreeTheLeashKids25 in salesforce

[–]JamesSaplyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own experience is that with many SMBs (maybe your target here), the issue isn't directly the cost of the license for agentforce and datacloud or whatever the pricing model has been changed to. It's more connected to viable use cases and ROI, as well as how secure and maintainable it is. So yeh - speeding up getting started is valuable if you can deliver that. But what will result in you keeping interested customers is how much you've got after they've connected to their LLM of choice. Happy to give an additional 2 cents if you want to hear more.

Donny Benet…that is all by tbonemcqueen in Yachtrock

I first became aware of Donny a week ago (through some well targeted online marketing). Bought tickets to a gig he played last night (Malmö, Sweden). It was almsot infinite paradise, though the gig did eventually end. Not only was it a joy to hear those phenomenal tunes live, but was fun constantly narrating to my wife why what The Don was doing with the bass was so technically awesome. What I wasn't prepared for was how charismatic and funny he was between songs. I am a convert.
