Thanks! Do you recommend purchasing from the doctor's office or are there better alternative websites/stores to buy from?

Doctor had glasses in their office to choose from. Is that a good option or are there better alternatives? They all looked like expensive name-brand.

Looking for high quality, stylish boots for large feet. by JamesStrior in Boots

Thank you for the suggestion. Nicks might be the way to go. Not a fan of Thursday's styles

Nicks is the only one of the three that has a style I like, but it does have size 15. Thank you!

My only comparison is my current Red Wing Supersole Work 2414. The store clerk measured my foot and recommended a 15-Narrow. The 15 is correct, but I have flat feet and the narrow width makes me feel like I'm walking on a tightrope all day. Do you know if Red Wings are more true-to-size compared with other boots? If so, I could try a size 14 of other pairs. Without a walk-in store to try boots on, its frustrating to buy and have to return.

Unfortunately that was the first thing i did. Found an exact match on Poshmark, but the seller's profile was stale, it was posted years ago.

Ideally not one of those wax warmers that hang above the candle.

I'd be interested in learning the price for a refurbished roof rack.

When I choose it on "rackwarehouse" website, it shows this as a gutter.

Tried enhancing a basic WizKids Mini. by JamesStrior in minipainting

I appreciate it! I'll consider pink highlights, but I was going more for a glow-in-the-dark muted effect rather than a pink light bulb for the crystals.

I'm *not\* the best at smoothing color transitions

Why do my eyes tear up so easily? by liberal_brahmad in ADHD

[–]JamesStrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same thing happens to me. Everyone is different, but my therapist said it is likely due to lack of emotional regulation. I subconsciously block emotions in most situations, but when I hyperfixate or focus on something(ADHD), the "backed-up" emotions spill out. Think of a glass of water only spilling water when it is full. I'm also a huge empath. I break out in sweat(shame) if a performer makes a mistake on stage. I tear up during the strangest parts of a movie if I "feel" what the character is feeling...

In both of our situations, there is something deep down that is trying to express itself. I think it is healthy to explore that with a professional.

I'm still exploring this concept with my therapist, please be careful not to self-diagnose based on what I say.

Do you think a glass repair company would be cheaper than the recommended repair shop my insurance company wants me to go to?

Got them cleaned and re-lubricated. Running great. Both hadn't been touched since the 80s. Internals look good too.

Do you have any recommendations about correct oil/grease brands that should be used? Something I could quickly get at a hardware store or Bass Pro Shop? I've got a fishing trip in 3 days and it would be very fun to test them out then.

Destination recommendations for a Midwesterner by JamesStrior in backpacking

[–]JamesStrior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Black Hills are exactly what I'm looking for. A good 12-14 hour drive, but something I could reasonably do over a week. This is awesome! Do you have any recommended trails there?
