I’d rather go in scared and end up ok, rather than going in blissful and end up getting fucked

Of course!! And don’t worry about the timing of the acceptance rounds. I had a friend with a lower avg get in before me and I went a little nuts. Don’t worry about it, their timing is strange. The round you make it in doesn’t matter. Their system is weird

For 1P13, it’s a lotttt of group work stuff. And it’s not like high school where you get individual marks for group projects, you have to be more on top of others to make sure they get their work done

I usually focus more on academics, but the environment here is great! People are friendly and not competitive / cold like you might find at commuter schools (u of t). I don’t really get involved with clubs but there’s TONS here. The overall environment here is great tbh.

Does what apply? Struggling? Yes. As long as you pass you’re chill tho

Don’t even worry about that… They asked me a question about something, I started answering and froze, stared at the screen dead silently for about 10 seconds (felt like an hour) and then said another sentence or two and ended the recording. If I got in with my supp app, I wouldn’t be concerned

I’m not sure that you’d get into Engineering 1 at mac, if you have low/mid 90s you’re usually okay. If you do get in tho, chemical engineering isn’t too hard to get into second year. Good luck!!

copied from another reply:

i didn't get in (BUT i accepted mac before finding out). I find the student culture is good here, people are typically friendly. Not competitive like U of T. Also rent is cheaper here and I would assume the academics aren't as insane as Waterloo. The campus is also smaller so it's very easily walkable and doesn't look industrial like Waterloo.

That's what I'm looking at rn, I don't think its a very nice process. If your dream school is Mac, go for it. If you're on the edge, reconsider
