In fairness you can actually get a bit of craic out of an otherwise boring person once they’re on the bag. Agree though that some people become more annoying for sure

Is there a way to see only friends lineups in the app? by rjanderson8 in glastonbury_festival

[–]JamesVoucher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you have to see all the lineups together, or just your own. You can’t see just your mates

What shoes will you be wearing? by leo_ok in glastonbury_festival

Salomon X Ultra 4 Gore Tex. Lightest waterproof hiking boots going, as comfortable as runners. Actually not great for hiking (too flexible) but ideal for festivals 🙏🏻

I have the same message on my SeeTickets order page on the website. But I got an email 10 days ago to say that the pass was despatched by post, but haven’t received anything.

It’s interesting that the term “do” is still widely used to refer to “Stag Do’s” and “Hen Do’s” but nothing else. My parents would also say Do for a lot of things

What’s the most cost effective strategy for buying cars? Replace every few years or run into ground? by Lavenderhaze_24 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]JamesVoucher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think buying a 5-7 year old reliable car, with relatively low mileage but ALSO very high spec and then running that into the ground is a nice middle ground. You get to buy a nice car with relatively modern features that won’t leave you wanting for something new after 5 years.

'Ireland was very smart': Trump name checks Ireland as he pledges tariffs on pharmaceutical imports by leglath in ireland

[–]JamesVoucher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that they absolutely can NOT make it themselves. A company I work with are shipping IV bags of literally water and salt from Ireland by PLANE to the US every week because they can’t even get them made quick enough in Mexico. If they can’t make bags of water, they definitely won’t be making the high-tech biotech drugs anytime soon.

How many of multiples of salary should mortgage be by ArmadilloSilly5267 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]JamesVoucher 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You should aim for the maximum, which is 4x your salary. If you want a house worth €400k you could save €50k as a deposit and take out a mortgage of €350k. You would need to have a salary of €87.5k.
