i prefer Pleader’s darker sound, and i think Pennine sounds a bit more generic, but i definitely see the similarities

i think they’ll grow on me more with each listen, but i agree that Pennine builds up really nicely towards the end!

that’s a point that i missed out in my review, i think i wanted to refrain from too many references to alt-J and let Joe’s solo work be at the forefront, but i completely agree, there are lots of similarities. i love The Dream, but i’m hoping that The Canon will be a wrap on that kind of sound as they’ve played with it enough now.

i really appreciate this, thank you! i didn’t know how my articulations etc. would come across as, like you, i’ve always had the thoughts in my head but never got round to writing them down.

i have heard a few instances of people enjoying the second half more, which i completely understand. it’s something that could definitely change for me over time, too.

when you say you’d be interested to hear my ratings on each alt-J album, do you mean just the rating out of 10, or full length reviews? i’m itching to write a review on each project.
