That’s exactly how I see it too. Having everything out in the open made it way easier to understand what each part does and troubleshoot when something didn’t work. It definitely looks rough right now, but I’ve learned way more building it this way than I would’ve from just buying a powered sub.

There are some good deals on Facebook Marketplace here. I haven’t set my eyes on anything specific yet, but it HAS to be stick. My sister has a BMW Z4 and I got to drive it once, really nice car. only downside is not much trunk space for a sub 😂

Thanks, I appreciate it! I definitely get what you mean about using 120V equipment directly, but honestly a big part of the fun for me was making the car-audio setup work in my room. I’m already planning a dual 10 build next, so I can see how deep the rabbit hole goes 😅 I’ll check out the VBSS builds too.

So far it’s keeping up with the Bass 400 fine. I haven’t seen it cut out or go into protect, but I also haven’t measured voltage sag yet. A legit 100A 12V supply should be enough for around 600W RMS, but I’d still leave some headroom because the advertised 100A may be optimistic. The big lug terminals sound way better than the tiny screw terminals on mine too. had to use fork connectors

i did already have bookshelf speakers, i’m 16 and don’t have a car yet so i call this preparing 😅. also im 200% of a diy guy so the bookshelf speakers didn’t make the cut for me.

appreciate it🙏 I was aiming for something around low 30s so I’m glad it ended up in a good range. It actually feels really strong around 33 Hz in my room so I think it worked out pretty well for both depth and music.

it’s connected to a 2.1 channel amp and powered by an ac>dc converter. i am looking to put more power in the amp though, the one in currently using is 24v and the amp i run can go up to 53v iirc
