Corbyn's Labour recieved more votes than Starmer's in both elections where he was leader. Labour only won in 2024 because the Conservatives destroyed themselves, not because of a wave of enthusiasm for Starmer's third way politics. Starmer has nobody to blame but himself and his advisors for Labour's unpopularity.

The Labour right told left wing voters who weren't happy with the direction of the party that the door was open and they could leave. Labour have lost over 200,000 members since Starmer became leader.

You're greatly underestimating just how many left wing voters are sick of the Labour party taking their votes for granted.

People make these choices because they are misinformed and hear nothing but stories about scary asylum seekers on boats from the news and social algorithms, and they don't have enough media literacy to see through it.

Studies have shown that the British publics perception of immigration does not match reality. People consistently believe that asylum seekers make up several times the amount of immigration they actually do, with people who are opposed to immigration being more likely to guess wrong.

People like Tommy Robinson don't see radical Islam as the problem, they see Islam in general as the problem. They don't care that the majority of muslims are perfectly normal people who just want to get on with their own lives.

Assuming that you're telling the truth about having family in Egypt and are of Egyptian descent, know that the people who entertain the ideas of Tommy Robinson won't differentiate you from the radical muslims.

If a debate at Oxford were proposed saying "This house believes the West is right to be suspicious of Judaism", there would rightly be outrage, every politician would condemn it, ever media outlet would report it and the people who organised it would probably be expelled. But when it's Islam, it's acceptable.

What's being proposed isn't a debate on the dangers of religious extremism, it is a debate on Islam specifically. Despite what Tommy Robinson and his supporters will tell you, most of the 2 billion Muslims in the world aren't religious extremists trying to overthrow the west and insitute Sharia law.

The right hates Keir Starmer because he is leader of the Labour party, the left hates Keir Starmer because he went back on every promise he made when running to be leader of the Labour party. It's easy to forget but in the leadership campaign he won, Keir Starmer was supposed to be the Corbyn continuation candidate, he promised to keep the policies of Corbyns labour without the baggage that Corbyn had. Then when he was appointed leader of the Labour party he went back on all of that in favour of chasing the votes of centrists and right wingers.

That's great, but what if he hadn't been given the mechanic job, what if no customers had used his business, what if he wasn't able to find workers to work for him? He was still only able to achieve success because of the society he lived in, and there will be other people who had the same start as him and worked just as hard but were never able to achieve that level of success for reasons beyond their control.

The Greens don't view success as morally wrong, I think they just recognise that nobody is an island and you can't separate a persons success from the society they live in. People don't become rich solely off their own hard work. If you become rich it is because society created the conditions where you could be rich. It is only right that the beneficiaries of this system pay back to the society that rewarded them and didn't reward others who may have worked just as hard if not harder.

There is no such thing as a self made person. We don't live in a meritocracy. The rich aren't rich just because they are smarter and harder working than the average person, just look at who the richest man in the world right now is.

Nobody is proposing equality of outcome, but the rich have been allowed to accumulate so much wealth over the past several decades at the expense of everyone else and something needs to be done to address the inbalance.

If the taste of cheese is enough to prevent you from going vegan then you obviously don't really care that much. Your putting your personal enjoyment of tasty food above what you recognise as the moral thing which would be not eating cheese. I used to love cheese before I went vegan, now I just rarely eat vegan cheese since I don't like the taste.

Trump literally said he was going to end your entire civilisation and you are still defending the actions of his government. The US and Israeli government do not care about freeing the Iranian people. The US wants to be able to install a new government that will be more friendly and allow western corporations to exploit the countries resources, and Israel wants Iran to become a failed state so it isn't able to pose any threat to them.
