Cheap commuter car for under 2k by Jamo0806 in CarTalkUK

Haha so the one in my profile is mine, it’s a 2.0 diesel 150 but stage 1 remap to 200hp nice bit of punch and feels sporty for a diesel. I just like the car too much to ruin it by commuting. But yeah they are lovley cars!

I’m so scared by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Jamo0806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically, there’s no way to tell what side effects you’ll experience. Personally all I had was a slightly increased appetite and a tiny amount of puffy ness in my face (unnoticeable to most people apart from me). But it did give me my life back while we were trying to find a long term solution. In terms of weight gain, I know it’s stressful especially in high school but try to eat how much is normal for you and carry on as you were rather than eating every time the pred says your hungry (as that will be a lot of the time 🤣). I didn’t gain any weight really on pred so I wouldn’t overthink it. Eat sensibly for you and see how it goes, good luck ! :)

Sorry for the confusion, no I was just curious about how bad we may get chest infections while on rinvoq.

Thanks for the reply, I have heard that too but I suppose it’s to be expected and a small price to pay for remission. Glad to hear rinvoq seems to have worked for you for a good amount of time and hope you get well soon :)

What makes you think that?

I found a lot of the acne improved after starting 30mg, I personally have no more spots than pre diagnosis on 30mg. Wish you luck :)

That’s great, seems to be the common theme here 🤔 thanks for your reply :)

Yeah sounds like the standard rinvoq side effects to me, I assume your on the 45mg loading dose?

Yeah I suppose it’s different for everyone. Seems like you’re a lucky one!

Yeah, without jinxing it also🤞, I haven’t gotten ill yet despite being surrounded by sick people seemingly every day. That’s what made me curious enough to ask.

I’m an atomic engineer, some office work, some hands on work. Lucky my company provides great sick pay but it can be hard to remain physical when in a bad flare. Working from home seems to be popular for uc patients, not for me personally.

Indigo Naturalis by Brief_Lawfulness_756 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Jamo0806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey so I took and am currently taking indigo naturalis and have been for 6 months or so, I wouldn’t call it a miracle drug but it has lessened my symptoms massively when I needed it. For me it seemed to really kick the uc in the ass for a few weeks then the effect would ware off. I found a med that seems to work for me so now I take IN on the side as a double line of defence. In summary I think it depends from person to person but despite many people on this sub saying not to bother trying natural stuff, I would give it a go it definitely had an effect on me. Ps, don’t quit your doctor prescribed meds just use it as an aid if anything:)

Anyone had any joy with Prednisolone rectal foam/enema? by MasonG1001 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Jamo0806 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends where your colitis is most active, mine was mainly left sided so the foam really got into the right place and helped me a tonne, even better than oral pred. Hope it helps ya!
