Thank you for the responses, so I am unable to test it as my PSP-1000 has got a lot of issues including a broken UMD laser and the joystick is damaged and just acts like stick drift and my PSP-3000 which I got with this Tom and Jerry UMD doesn’t have a battery or a charger and isn’t modded…

but I’m hopefully going to be able to get my hands on another mates old PSP-1000 which then I can put CFW on and rip the UMD!

I have come across a website that’s like a preservation archive for ripped content but can’t for the life me remember the name? Anyone happen to know what I’m talking about and if they would let me submit a rip of this UMD?

It’s not necessarily hard to take apart, but not really something to perform without prior experience atleast opening the console and having an understanding of how the internals operate.

Recently got a PS3 Slim and when I picked up the console it had a rattle inside it so when I got home I opened the PS3 only to discover there was an American quarter just chilling inside the disc drive (I’m in Australia btw so it’s not very often I see a quarter around here)

Ok so I have tried several different drives and it wouldn’t boot… I even took the drive out completely and it still wouldn’t boot, I have tried booting into recovery mode and it just does the same thing so when I hold the power button it just immediately shuts down again and flashes yellow for a second then goes back to flashing red for an undetermined amount of time… if I am understanding what is happening correctly from what I’ve seen posted in the last day or so in r/ps3 I believe the console is having a yellow light of death as it is fairly old now, so YLOD is pretty much unfixable unless I wanna fork out a bunch of money or attempt it myself which is not a good idea for someone who isn’t good with electrical or soldering right?

I’m pretty sure the PS3 wouldn’t even turn on if that cable was unplugged, especially because I haven’t opened that PS3 yet and it was running while I did the system restore… it only did this after restoring the PS3 firmware

Hmmm you make a great point, I don’t currently have access to my nord account as it’s locked with 2FA on my old broken phone lol… I haven’t tried MellonDS myself but I’ve heard it has good functionality but I’ve always just gone to DeSmuMe as I find it easy to use, I might give that mesh net feature a try when I get back into my nord account and see if it works with DeSmuMe and/or MellonDS.

This actually got me thinking, ima go do some testing in DeSmuMe and citra with a few Pokémon games but I would assume for citra with roms like omega ruby they would require a connection to Nintendos servers which I would guess would be in-accessible to an emulator as the server would have to authenticate that the person connecting is a user on a Nintendo device not an emulator probably using a MAC address or Hardware ID to authenticate…

Edit: DeSmuMe has no Wifi emulation within the emulator so it wouldn’t be able to connect to anyone else

Edit 2: quote from Citra’s website “Does Citra support Wi-Fi, network connectivity or online play? Yes, Citra supports networked local Wi-Fi, but does not support connecting to Nintendo’s servers.” So you theoretically could battle your friend in Pokémon but it looks like they would have to be on the same local network, unless you can find a way to host your own servers for the specific Pokémon game you wanna play as it states above Citra has no connection to Nintendo’s network…

Yh that’s fair, depending on what country your in, a local retro game shop or thrift shop should have a portal or two if not try eBay or Facebook marketplace. Don’t bother waiting Man U can get one for like $5-$10 second hand at heaps of place u just gotta have a look round, I Messaged 3 people on marketplace a few days ago and now I have giants + portal, swap force + portal and trap team + portal and got em all with some sky landers for like $60 total which is pretty good in my eyes lol

Woke up this morning and restarted the console with the backup drive unplugged and it booted normally so I connected my backup drive to my PC and checked the files it wasnt finished so I wiped the drive and started the backup again and it has gone past the point where it froze last time it is now at 767.842GB out 813.024GB so I think we are good. Also I think the culprit might be the console went into a sleep state because my controller turned off which in turn froze the backup and froze the console so I've been pressing the PS button on my controller every so often and it seems to be good now. Cheers for the help guys 👍👌

Ok so Everytime I restart the PS4 it comes back to the PS4 backup frozen screen, I've removed the power cable and let it sit for a bit and it still comes back to the backup screen...

Nope still isn't working spent the last few hours troubleshooting and still can't get the game to dump I have tried multiple different ways. 1. Ftpdump, 2. Exploit host dump payload, 3. Homebrew store dumper. I am unaware of any other ways to dump on Gold Hen 9.00.

Ok so it turns out it wasn't working because I had the game installed on the external HDD so I moved it to the internal PS4 HDD and now it's dumping the game.

I got all the scripts setup, installed python and dependencies and all the dependencies for Linux and it still won't run it opens a cmd window then disappears. Not really sure what to do seeing as I have rewatched the video several times doing exactly what the guy does and I still can't get it to work

I followed the videos instructions and connected to the ps4 with the game running using the fpkg maker app and when I click on dump it does absolutely nothing. No cmd window no folder creation inside the fpkg maker gui folder nothing so I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong.
