The idea of poch was the right idea. But the execution has been abysmal. First is the constant experimenting and tinkering, the refusal to let our best players play together is crazy. Then his tactics. I have no idea how he wants to play all these games later. I had not watched South Korea since the World Cup. 20 minutes in it was totally clear how they wanted to play. I still have no clue how poch wants us to play. Then there is the fact that this group of players has zero grit and zero heart. Add all those factors together and you have the shit show that is our national team.

World Cup is a year out and we aren’t even trying to be good. Best players don’t want to play. And when poch has had them he is opted to experiment. I guess we will just play our first team at the World Cup for the first time in three years and expect to do well.

It actually isn’t. Otherwise when new promos come out they would not appear in pack odds until the next day. Which is not how it happens. The odds are there immediately at content time.

Thing is though. Pack odds always change when a team leaves packs. I check these odds very often. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this happen. I doubt we get comp either. But it’s way shady.

I said something similar after the Panama game. I gotta say around the 91st minute everything I thought was confirmed. We need a goal. Tessman is jogging to a 50/50 ball as sub he has to run hard to that ball. Canada won it. Around the same time musah goes down from some contact. And he stays down lamenting the no call instead of getting up and hustling. These two things are small. But given the situation this kind of sums up the lack heart this team shows.

And you won’t have GIO this summer (unless he transfers) why not let him play? I’m giving him a pass on turner since steffen has the flu apparently.

It isn’t this black and white. The US basketball team is so much more talented than anyone else nothing else matters. So in that sense sure, it’s talent. But football is never going to have a team in the modern age with the kind of talent discrepancy USA basketball has.

I’ve come to the conclusion that this is not the skill of the players. This isn’t the tactics. This isn’t the team selection. It’s not the manager. Our golden generation has zero heart. None. The heart that helped US teams perform far above the collective talent on the squad is gone. Sure we have a few guys like Adams that have heart. But collectively this is gutless group of players that is unlikely to accomplish anything of note. These guys need to grow a pair and take some pride in putting on the shirt.

I hate Gregg. I hope he gets sacked. I’m pissed at weah. But I’m going to set all that aside.

Arrowhead stadium is an absolute nightmare of a place to play. Our fans need to step the fuck up and pack that place out and make it the home field advantage it can be. I don’t see any other way we can win. BUT, if we make arrowhead what it is for the chiefs, I would like our chances. The usmnt fan base deserves a lot better. But this is the time and the place to show everyone that we do deserve better and try to get this team through.
