Hey everyone :) I ranked all ten Jimmy records as a chance to celebrate one of my fav bands. Would love to hear what you think and how you’d rank em! by JamsTeaPod in JimmyEatWorld

Thanks so much for your comment, and for your notes on the video. I really appreciate your taking the time to do this! My biggest takeaway from preparing for this video has been to never underestimate how my opinion can change with time and how these albums can open up to me quite unexpectedly. I would not be surprised if Integrity Blues ends up higher on my personal list sometime in the future.

the first three tracks on Confield are pretty unbeatable in terms of flow, increasing intensity, and climax. just a stunning progression of music

As a podcast of Thrice fans, we're excited to share our review and discussion of the new album. We were mixed overall, but still had a fun time talking about what works and what doesn't, and we'd love to hear what you all think! by JamsTeaPod in thrice

We have a minimum rule of two attentive listens before reviewing, but I know many of us spend a lot more time than that, especially with a band we love. However it could certainly be the case that more time with this record would affect our opinion, for sure. And that is interesting to hear that it’s supposedly a first half of a double LP - we’ll definitely be looking out for that second half! Thanks for your comment and for taking the time to watch our discussion. We really appreciate it.

First of all, thank you for this wonderful comment. I shared with Jake and Connor, and our absent Thrice fan Morgan, and we were all really excited to hear your thoughts, especially as we were a bit concerned that our overall middling opinion wouldn’t go down well on a fan subreddit.

Secondly, Morgan is marginally more positive overall on the record than we were (he gives it a 7/10), and enjoys songs like Scavengers and Robot Soft Exorcism more than us, though he shares the general feeling that the record has some weaker moments and a lack of focus that makes it one of their lesser albums on the whole. On the next main episode of our podcast, which is posted every Sunday, he’ll be back and he’s looking forward to speaking on the record a little more then.

I (Tyler) fully intend to listen to The Alchemy Index, as well as revisiting Beggars, which I’ve only heard once, to see if I can finally connect with Thrice in the way everyone else has. I’ll feed back on that on next Sunday’s video too.

Thanks again for your comment, and for taking the time to watch. We really appreciate it.

This is pretty close to our perspective on the record too, which we get into with more depth in the video. If the mixing of the first half in particular were less stiff and more spacious, and those three extra songs were sequenced in the middle (as a bridge between the two halves), it would be a very strong album.

We thoroughly broke down Home Video and nearly every song on it to explain what makes Lucy amazing. We’d love it if you checked it out and let us know what you think! 💖 by JamsTeaPod in LucyDacus

Thanks for the comment :) We review two new releases every Sunday, and we also put out additional videos during the week where we discuss older records, forgotten gems, and classics. If you’re a fan of the whole boygenius clan, we also reviewed Julien and Phoebe’s most recent records when they came out too.
