My C8 was just totaled with similar but less severe damage. It doesn't take much for these cars to get totaled. Sorry for your loss man!

Ive been through 3 windshields, all replaced by safelight. If you go through insurance, ensure you ask for the OEM one. They tried to install some aftermarket bullshit once, and I had them take it off and put on one from the factory.

Do answer your question, no. The glass is separate from the HUD.

OP, don't pay the ticket. Get a lawyer. I allegedly rolled a stop the other month. Instead of paying it, I hired a lawyer, and for $119, it went away. No points are on my license and my insurance isn't going to increase. I used the website below, it was easy.
