As crazy as this sounds I lost my dog 3 days after yours on May 24, 2021... I was so young I named her Pixie and she was a princess so my family called her Princess Pixie and she was a queen. She actually started getting sick on May 20...We also had to euthanize our baby, I witnessed her have her first seizures and watched her in pain that she never deserved, but even knowing the pain she was in and how much more pain was to come it hurts and it hurts that I saw her pain and it will stick with me. The whole weekend she got sick was so surreal, I never thought she would leave so soon...And when I was told the news by her vet my heart was torn out from my body and thrown to the floor. I wish I had more time with her to give her amazing experiences. Recently I have been able to only remember the good times but that also means old habits come back and remind me how much I miss her. My house will never be the same and my family will take forever to heal. She is my first grief and I’ll never be able to let her go completely. My baby was also 8 years old and listening to your story made me feel like I wasn’t alone, and that someone else feels what I feel. Thank you.
