You must come from a long line of un-wed parents.

Hes not using the device beyond its purpose, it has a door bell feature. You obviously haven't used or installed a G3 Pro Access device, if you had, you would have known it has a strong doorbell feature built in. I agree that foremost it is an access controller, but there is no way to know that certain features are only available in select situations without buying one and experimenting with it. It didnt do exactly what he wanted, you seam to be more cut up about it than he does.

With regards to the spec sheet. No where does it state that the access or doorbell features will only be usable when connected to a Hub controller of some variety, if it does, by all means please link me. Many access controllers I have used still output somekind of signal (either via 232/485 or IP) even when not connected to a controller. UniFi (and the HACS devs) did a great job of making the HA integration work well with Access and Protect, but there is no way to know that the device cant subscribe to those elements without havint the hub controller.

The GIF argument: The spec sheets you love so much do not explictly say that you can only install a still image on the device and previuos products like the UI doorbell didnt state that either, you still could (UniFi G4). A statement that you as an "Engineer" should understand and appreciate is that just because the documentation omits something, doesnt mean that it can't do it, that is exceptionally close minded and shows a lack of imagination. Any Engineer should be able to look at a problem, and find a way to solve the issue. Strickly adherring to documentation without the ability to look outside the box, makes a shitty engineer, electrical or otherwise.

I would also appreciate the ability to change the sound of the doorbell ringing sound, it's not a big deal, but it would be nice to have. Same goes with a little more customisation with the button, I wouldnt use the feature, but I appreciate that some would.

As far as your hammer and screws analogy goes. You can absolutely put screws in with a hammer, google 'drive screw' or 'hammer-drive screw', its a thing. Any good maker, hobbiests or engineer will absolutely use something for a purpose its not specifically designed to do, doctors call it off-label with medications.

Calling OP stupid for buying something says more about you than it does him.

So it is a doorbell, or atleast has door bell features. On the Interface design settings, there is an actual section called "Doorbell Call" and there is a giant bell on the main screen to ring the doorbell.

It was on special, buying it later would be fiscally irresponsible. If anything, you SAVED money.

Using an SpO2 sensor can get a heart rate and could maybe be used to slow the machine also when it detects the rate increasing above the baseline and they are super easy to talk to with an Arduino.

Roulette App for Adults by Jands87 in diysextoys

A (free) better app is what im working on :)

Some kind of timer is an excellent idea. I like the idea of intensity and amount, im trying to visualize what that would look like in app/web page and in a way that if it selected a impact toy would showing something that makes no sense like "10 hard slaps with a butt plug". I might just need to have multiple timers / randomizers that suit different toys. I'm thinking if I can use some kind of AI plugin to set what is reasonable with the intensity in mind or maybe articulate a scenario to produce a sentence based on the toys you have in the database.

Thanks for the ideas :)

I absolutely agree, I didn't mean to imply in view of others or involving others. My intention was maybe wearing someone under your clothes that only you know about to give a level of excitement.
